Runhappy had heat and fill in ankle this am. Racing mgr Laura Wohlers reportedly fired Maria Borell.

.....what a game!

That\'s incredible .... I hope the horse is ok... Perhaps Wholers didn\'t like the publicity Borel got instead of her.. I don\'t know the connections or Borels history but I\'m sure someone will hire her...

Not sure it was a good idea to go public with it on Twitter.

Good Luck,

Think you hit it Tony. Wohlers( related to Mc Invale think)now the trainer.Maria Borell claims she is being stiffed on her 10% trainer fee for stakes win.If true, Mattress Mack needs to get smacked around.

Even if someone hires her, what are the odds of her ever having a graded stakes winner again?

Higher than you might think.

She already has \"Graded Stakes Winner\" on her sheet,
and she has room in her barn.

This might have tremendous appeal to owners that are
looking for more personalized attention...especially
new owners.

I kinda like the garb. Very colorful.

Wohlers is the sister in law to \"mattress Mack\" and prior to taking over as his racing manager had run the service department in his furniture stores....

Wrongly

Sometimes women can develop a stronger relationship with a horse.  Scoff if you will.  She\'s done a great job with that horse and others should pay attention.  It would be ashame if we only rewarded the criminals.

P-Dub,

Thanks for the race by race breakdown.  Actually makes me see my plays weren\'t as nearly as far fetched as my results would indicate although I am still analyzing my plays.

I count 8 opinions that were near identical to the ones you and I played.  You were able to squeeze out a few bucks where I did not but almost identical opinions such as Artemis, Found (didn\'t play the race b/c I was so discouraged by that point), tossing Runhappy, keying Tourist, the Hebbronville tri a cash in race 1 (ex for you), cashed race 1-3 p3 for a small loss, didn\'t use Nyquist anywhere, played Tonalist once Classic arrived and all else had failed for me, etc.  Guess the seminar led customers in more similar directions than I would have anticipated given the number of horses mentioned both positive and negative by JB.

On a 1990 WS note, I looked up a few stats and it looks like we both were accurate to a degree.

Oakland\'s pitching staff led the AL in ERA, fewest hits allowed, and most shutouts in the American Leaue in 1990.  They had a great staff including Eck.  Canseco and McGwire were the power but you are correct in that Gallego Lansford, Weiss weren\'t power hitters the way people probably remember the team of Bash Brothers and their staff was legit.

However, in the WS, the A\'s hit .207 with 28 strikesouts in 4 games and the Reds hit .317 with 9 strikeouts in 4 games.  Contact hitting matters.  But I agree Reds bullpen was truly \"lights out\" as the \"Nasty Boys.\" (Both teams hit only 3 home runs in the 4 game set if you are curious).

Well...this is incredible.

I believe the trainer in that she ascertained heat.  You\'d think they\'d defer to her after what she has recently accomplished.

If they don\'t do right by her a pox on their house.

Incredible

Clement 0-26?  didn\'t know that. Quite remarkable.

Not considering the turf has been dominated by Euros/more recently Wise Dan and  Chad Brown runners. You would think he would have a few wins though.

Today is the day after also. How the f--k did the Mets blow 3 games where they were ahead going into the 9th twice and the 8th once?

Two words--- brutal infield.

Good Luck,
