Based on the race replays Mubtaahij will be my key selection.  Amazing race! The best of all derby preps & big field

We have a very strong group, but my key horse needs to have good odds

Others: Frosted & Upstart, plus some favorites

Good luck

I might disagree about the best of the Derby Preps as to me the Santa Anita and Arkansas Derby may be slighty better or on par.  My question would be who did they beat.  And secondly will the travel be a factor.  If the field was weak I would look for a Euro or mideast or Japanese interloper.  Not with these.

Both Dortmund & AP ran almost wire to wire

Difference was that Mutbaahij was behind a few horses, patiently waiting for his opportunity, and he exploded.  Looked very smart

Also, I never bet favorites to win (single bet).  I might use those to win in trifectas

It did look like he was shot out of a cannon, but Dortmund coming back on firing line after it looked like he was cooked was the most visually impressive race to me.

Dortmund coming back on deeper part of track that day as well imo.

Yes visually impressive but slow on the TG numbers.  My future wager was placed on 2/15/2015 just across the state line and was soley based on pedigree and trainer and his improved performance when moved to dirt. I just noticed he\'s a late April foal, so he won\'t actually turn 3 until next week. The two Baffert colts are almost 3 months older, and Carpe Diem 2 months. Not that it makes a damn bit of difference in my future bet, but is that significant in the opinion of the board?  Jon White doesn\'t assign a strike for late foals (for instance).

I watched all dirt races on Lewis day.  I do not think the inside was slower.  CC did just fine down inside, and a few others at longer odds did well.
