For a little board levity, I am thinking about purchasing a 2-year-old, or maybe a yearling for my 56th birthday and am trying to settle on a \"clever name.\"   So I ask you . . .

if you were going to name a horse, what are some of the most funny or memorable names for thoroughbreds you have come across in your gambling exploits.

As a kid from Nebraska, I used to hop the backstretch at Ak-sar-ben to walk hots.  I distinctly remember a three-year-old colt by Raise A Cup, trained by Gary Thomas that stole the hearts of bettors in Nebraska.

His name:  Drop Your Drawers!!!!!

I laugh every time I think of that name.  Your horse\'s name?

TGJB

Years ago I had one by Sensitive Prince out of Rushing Stream that I named Princessandthepea. I didn\'t try for the double E at the end, figured they wouldn\'t let it through.

richiebee

Two of my favorites: Bodacious Tatas, and that trap for the unwary race caller,
Hoof Hearted.

There was a NY bred mare running back when Marshall Cassidy was still calling the
races; her name was \"Babies a Comin\'\". The dam of Babies a Comin\' was \"After the
Lovin\'\".

Rich Curtis

Forget about funny and cute. Funny and cute won\'t pay the bills. Personalize the name to appeal to potential buyers. You\'re from Nebraska? Name it after Warren Buffett. Or name it \"Who is John Galt\" and sell it to Jerry Brown.

Too much room to maneuver here.  We need a theme.

For just a goofy name I\'d go with \"Cankles\" - cuz it both sounds funny and is about funny things (maybe \"Hillaryscankles\" if you want to go political).

But give us some guidance - gambling, drinking, sex,  . . . .

What about something like:

Ididntnamemyhorse

or

Icantnamethishorse

Both names are under the maximum of 18 letters.

BenevolentDictator

I may have posted this before, but there was a horse that raced at Penn National around 2001-2002 that was named My Ex-Wife\'s Ashes.  The Philly Park cable t.v host always had some clever quips when this horse raced.

razzle

If I ever name a thoroughbred, I will be bound to use a phrase from a favorite uncle whenever he discussed a race outcome, \"M.Crookedsonsa...\"

Flighted Iron

dennish

The wildest name I can recall was Cunning Stunt. How did that get by?  On a person note, I named my best 2yo after my wife, Linda the Nag. Surprise, she\'s now my ex-wife.

How about after Bill Murray\'s famous quote from Caddyshack - Gunga Galunga

Thanks for all the responses.  Just logged on to the registry . . .  and so far, my wife\'s suggestion is looking better and better.

When I told her it was either a corvette or a race horse for my mid life crisis . . . she came up with the name \"Theregoesmymoney\"  It\'s available.

Not sure what to think, you?
