I\'ll 2nd this sentiment. Low blood count on Samraat...that does not sound good but as stated above no idea what it would mean for the race.  Anyone have thoughts on these treatments?

Allllll vanilla, jugs, little pain meds, lubes, ordinary maintenance stuff. Go to NYS Gaming Commission website for all three days of all meds given to the the horses in the grade 1 races....nutin to speak of.

If someone is gonna cheat,it wouldn\'t be too bright to list it.

I certainly like the idea of making vet records available for transparency sake but I can\'t see actually using them for handicapping purposes.  Would think you would need to be a vet to draw any conclusions, and probably not even then until you actually examine the horse.

this to me, was very important and hope it becomes the standard. I admit not knowing much about the treatment,but  I do know low blood count not good. Abrasions etc, not good. ROC and GAR seemed to be hurting....and the horses with just one treatment or none at all, medal count, were the tri....cc was also treated same, as was matterhorn/matusak......anyway, it helped me toss ws gar roc.....was toosing cc already.....and that was a big piece of the puzzle

No question, in this particular race, less proved to be more.

low red blood cell counts are red flags in human atheletes for recent cessation of epo. works the same in horses and other animals

a low red blood cell count is anemia.

low white blood cell counts can come from having had a bad infection. most other low white blood cell counts come from pretty serious things like leukemia

are vet reports available for all races or just major races? If available how would one go about accessing the vet report at the track he was planning on betting?

Vet reports are not available on a daily basis, only for big races, so far. Industry wrestling with disclosure of all vet records to public. Very difficult issue,horsemen mainly diabolically opposed,authorities on the fence, at least in NY.

well it makes sense why tell the world what problems your horse is having. I thought this piece of information prior to the Belmont was very good and will be something I will pay attention to if it comes up again.
