Sometimes I Hate This Game

Kimmel Factor

I was told by two different people that they took a look at Captain Bodgit and the Tendon looked so bad they said No Way Jose.

I was also told that the Team Valor people took Legendary Vet Alex Harthill down to Florida to take a look at the Captain and the first words out of his mouth were: \"NO PROBLEM\".

This bunch was so confident the night before the Derby (the horse had been treated by Harthill in Ky)they got into a shouting match at dinner over who was going to get to stand where in the Winners Circle Picture.

I did get your e-mail and listened...up to a point. Unfortunately, I played triples only keying HASSLEFREE with the Billy Mott horse  and the 3 outside posts ( i loved \'Math Man as a suck up 2nd or 3rd.)

I was sick for 3 days after that. All he had to do was break clean...I\'m sure he would have been top 3 the way the race set up.I\'m not sure the winner is on the board if he has to chase HF after breaking from the outside....tough game.

One more thought: I have a feeling that EUROSILVER will run a Derby similar to his old man. It appears that this one is a little too headstrong to get the mile and a quarter at this time, especially if the early pace is strong.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

Joe B.:

Don\'t blame the horse (Unbridled\'s Song) for the sins of his ownership. He was the classic example of how to ruin a great horse...can we say Toccet? Zito has this horse figured out, though I am concerned about his not changing leads on time in both sprints this year. I like a Eurosilver-Consecrate exacta on DD.

CONSECRATE....hmmm. Very interesting. Where\'s his next stop? SA Derby?

Good Luck,

I wasn\'t high on Hasslefree come race time, because I\'d seen another Lukas horse jump to the front, take the rail and get used up on it. I figured Hasslefree, even if he was ready, was gonna get the same rail trip and that would do him in. I did count on him to make the pace with Sinister G. for Matth to come late and it didn\'t happen. If you watch that race I don\'t think you\'ll ever see Sinister G. right on the rail. (Incorrect-He was much closer to the rail than I thought) He stayed just wide enough and ran well enough on the sealed track to not be seriously challenged. He was very wide in the stretch but closer to the rail for most of the race. Matth was a suck up 3rd, but I really think the circumstances failed to develope that I projected for him to win. All I needed was 3/4 more of a length and I know that was lost by Fragoso.

Sinister\'s number to my eye is upgraded due to the path he took, but downgraded due to the circumstances. We\'ll see how good he is. I\'m not sure yet. He\'s for sale for 2000K if anyone is interested.

Joe B:

Consecrate reminds me a lot like Domestic Dispute; I just hope I don\'t have to wait a year for him to mature. The SA derby is next, and I expect him to run 3rd again, then explode in the Derby.

His pattern supports your prediction. He may indeed \"explode\" in the Derby, but I\'m not sure he\'s a mile and a quarter animal yet. We\'ll take a close look at the finish next week.

I still feel the better Derby horse are out west.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

FYI:

DRF says Consecrate will run in the Winstar race this weekend...I don\'t like that!
