Absolutely no problem Richie although i wish preparation time always equated to success.  Maidens have not increased but the way the racing secretaries use them sure has.  Normally opening day features the best of the generation and that has not changed at any venue. But in the old days sellers were generally carded on weekdays.

Cannot support betting on NY\'s woeful product.  Way too much inside info and if you sort out the top ten percent and the bottom ten percent of NY breds, then weighted a handicap all would be within a few pounds.  Add in the lunacy of allowing then to run on the turf...

As a pick four player myself, I would suggest that rather than looking at the morning line try and purchase the DRF a few days prior before it is created( if possible in NY).  Now you are making a determination on the chances of a horse winning rather than the off odds.  Sequence players value winners regardless of odds.

A case in point; a few weeks ago, TG in the ROTW selected a La bred that won.  The next heat, leg two in the pick four,  was won by La bred machine Star Guitar at  sixty cents on the dollar.  A handicapping friend singled each,  then took four in each of the next two legs and his sixteen dollar investment returned a bit over eight grand.

Lastly, you might try California.  It is extremely formful.  Workout wise you must announce the horse and the distance prior, and their are only TWO classes of maidens.  In fact prior to Harrington selling out a few months ago combining the form, time and works successfully resulted in solid profits.  Happy new year. bbb
