Frank,

My final comment as I don\'t want to clutter the board with this.

Correct ruling. Here\'s my issue.

People got paid on Utah immediately after the game. Online players didn\'t have that benefit. It was a clusterbleep of the highest magnitude. Also, my book says \"...overturned decisions will not be recognized\".  I was told it wasn\'t overturned, just misreported and was read the statement by the Pac 12.  I said...Hey, I kinda feel like I\'m getting screwed here.  How about giving me some free play money so I at least have a chance to win it back.

Some places ruled no contest, some USC, others Utah. I got the \"I\'ll see what I can do\", which has turned into Nada.  How shocking. It was the last event of a wonderful Saturday.

A friend of mine gave me 2 nice tickets to the Giants game last Saturday night, 6pm start. Beautiful evening. Giants/Dodgers. I\'m an A\'s fan, so I don\'t care who wins, just want to watch a good game. Cold beer - that place has good beer - and munching on some warm cinnamon almonds and walnuts. We\'re having dinner in the Mission District after the game so don\'t want to eat too much.

So I\'m texting my buddy about scores. I get a look from the wife. \"Hey, we\'re discussing the ballgame\". I get another look. I put the phone away. But not before getting the updates.   It went something like this:

- Central Michigan +10.5.  Up 7 and controlling the game, 3rd qtr its 4th and short at their OWN 35.  Coach is feeling good, up a score on the road against an SEC team. Hey, lets go for it!!! Uh, bad idea. Stuffed. Next play TD. Downhill from there. Punt and a Kentucky 90 yd TD run, they lose by 14.

- Hawaii +6.  They miss 2 XP earlier, score a TD late with an XP will be down by 6. Well, another blocked XP that is returned the other way for an 8 pt loss. THREE missed XP with one returned for 2 pts. 5 pt swing.

- Virginia -7.  Up 23-3 in the 3rd, they proceed to give up 4 TDs.  Tie it with a TD a 2pt conv. Drive down inside the 10 and kick a chippy for the 3 pt win.

- Purdue -2.5.  They get a safety in the second half to perfectly set up a spread bleeping.  Sure enough, down 1 they drive down inside the 15, attempt a chippy. If you\'re going to play for a FG, and in the process not cover, I hope you miss.  Its blocked.  Yeah, I know. Classic P-Dub thinking.  If I lose I hope you do too.

-UConn +2.5. Up 7 mid 4th, they throw a Pick 6. (Had to toss in a racing reference somewhere). Who do you think kicks the winning FG. Not UConn.

After getting this latest scoring update my exact words back.....\" I\'m afraid to ask what else can happen today\".

He tells me about the Utah game. A game where USC can\'t get 1 more first down.....Utah 4th and 10, complete but spotted short of the line, reviewed and given a first down to extend the game.  Next play a pass interference to put in FG range.  Then the infamous blocked FG return for a TD. If any of the above doesn\'t happen, Utah covers.

I\'m told the score doesn\'t count.  Leave the snoozefest of a ballgame thinking there is a God, take BART to the Mission, enjoy a nice Italian dinner with my wife. Get back home, find out the score reversal. I almost heave my Osso Bucco.

The good news. Still ahead on football. And most importantly, the Raiders beat the hated Broncos for their first opening day win in 8 freaking years.

I hope your photos go better than mine did. Good luck guys.

The politics in NY state are shameful.  Grandstanding to a new high (low).  Brutal.

P-Dub.

What a nightmare. Thank God something like this couldn\'t happen in
Thoroughbred Racing...

...but wait. It appears that the placing judges at Kentucky Downs misread a
close photo finish for fourth, and superfecta payouts were made on tickets
which had the \"official\" first, second, third and fifth place
finishers, according to reports in the DRF.

State steward John Veitch, who administered the slap on the wrist of Patrick
Biancone which was heard around the racing world, apologetically explained
that Kentucky Downs does not have the sophisticated photo finish technology
possessed by larger tracks, which makes me wonder why one would want to bet
serious money into the vertical gimmicks there...

Good luck, P-Dub, with the Raid-az and their old school AFL showdown with the
Buffalo Bill this weekend. I have been thinking about becoming a BB fan,
seeing as they now have one of my favorite NFL players (ex Jet Brad Smith) on
their roster. The Bisons also have a starting QB who went to Harvard, and are
actually the only NFL team left in the state of New York.
