Clueless NYRA may be at it again giving the big ticket pick 6 players a ROYAL f--king. With the weather forecast well known, the Clueless Clowns scratched the MTO\'s early, let the pick six start, then took the final 3 races in the sequence off the grass.

A furious friend at the Spa(invested $5.5k in the pick six) called Clueless Charlie Hayward only to speak to a flunkie who advised the pick 6 will be made a pick 3 (races 4,5,6)with 25% of the pool distributed and 75% of the pool carried over to tomorrow.

This sounds IMPOSSIBLE, but we\'ll have to wait and see.

The rule is that if races are taken off the turf after the sequence starts, then those races become automatic wins and so it is a pick 3 in essence but they are suppossed to pay the whole pool out.

If they only pay out 25%, that would be unreal but I can\'t believe they would do that.

That sounds right..I wouldn\'t have any issue if that is what they do but if they pay out ony 25% then.. tsk tsk ...

Just posted by Steve Crist..

3:50 pm: Hold all non-existent tickets! The 7th, 8th and 9th were just taken off the turf and under INSANE New York state racing rules, this means that there is an automatic carryover. This rule totally screws people who remembered to put their tickets in, as only consos will be paid out and 75 percent of the new money, plus yesterday\'s carryover, carries until tomorrow.

This happened because I was still alive...sorry everyone....
#$%@&##$^%!&!!

These clowns need to be arrested and or fired. If you put up a $5.5k ticket you will get a few hundred bucks, with 5\'s, just criminal!! The weather was soooo apparent and they still allowed the players to step out and get screwed.

It really is.  Just ridiculous.  One day away from what...a 2 million pic 6 pool for Travers day?

Cov,

Pick 6 paid $69.50. A moment of silence for those poor players who got royally screwed by the clueless clowns.

The NYRA shills will point out the NYSRWB rules which is NOT the issue on this occasion.

omg, I really can\'t believe it.

I was mad because we had one entered MTO in the 8th that we should have drawn into had they done it properly but this puts my anger into totally different perspective.

I am so so sorry for your buddy and all of the other players.

Awful

Not defending NYRA here, but...isn\'t some of this on the P6 PLAYERS?

I don\'t know anyone goofy enough to stick $55 into a serial bet on a day when track conditions are obviously dicey...let alone $5500!

Take some responsibility for your bets...if you\'ve been playing long enough, you HAD to know today was going to be trouble at the Spa.

Bigredgoer

that\'s just an asinine statement to make..so your are supposed to guess that at 2:30 a torrential downpour is likely to occur, hence I won\'t be playing the P6 today..C\'mon

SoCalMan2

This is really terrible.  I feel for anybody who played....really rotten.  Makes no sense to take so much money out of a pool where nobody did anything wrong.

Don\'t need an asinine hypothetical situation like that, when we can use what *really* happened today.

I\'m in Chicago and I stayed out of the P6 once they started fooling around with the MTOs and the turf in later races...are you guys somehow not privy to ongoing runner changes and surface changes? Or are you utterly incapable of showing any restraint when it comes to wagering?

Sorry. no sympathy here for anyone blinded by the carryover and seemingly compelled to play the P6 today -- you were done in by a wicked brew of bad weather, strange (but knowable) NYRA P6 rules...and your own greed.

That\'s the kind of attitude that has contributed to further decline in this industry.  The ALL WIN when there is a surface switch after the close of multi-race wagers is a great rule, but you cannot penalize customers, who are alive after for the non-standard P6-minus-X-races sequence by enforcing the current NYSWB position where the entire pool minus 25% of today's pool is automatically carried over. Matter of fact - if this was the last day of the meet/year, the entire pool would have been paid out even if there were less than 6 races in the sequence.  For days that are not the last day of the meet/year - The NYSWB need to revise the existing rule so that the entire pool from today is the only pool in play for days where the P6 is now a P6-minus- X-races, and previous carryover money is reserved for the next day.
