Thumbs up to Pat (The Head Waiter) Day for his ultra patient ride in the 6th at Saratoga.

Patient Pat, aboard the fastest horse in the race, allowed the winner to coast along uncontested and open 4 lengths before he  moved a muscle.  Off course by that time it was way too late, costing our four person syndicate (all TG users) a $300,000+ PK6.  At least we cashed a $3000 conso so I guess that\'s almost as good.

Just another example of why Day is the most overated rider in the game today.

OPM

I\'ll hold and you punch.  It\'s interesting that the DMR consol. paid just as much with only 8-1 other than the $50+ winner.  Everyone was obviously at SAR.  Let\'s hope DMR on Wed is better.

I just looked at the ride, its clear that Day\'s horse was 5 lengths the best and you wuz robbed.

Have you considered a lawsuit?OPM wrote:

What are you guys grousing about? The horse didn\'t have it today. Even with the rail saving trip he couldn\'t do it. Parked wide battling with the 3 would have done what?

BTW, what was wrong with the #3 horse who was actually circling back to a better number, just as fast as the 4? I thought he was just as playable.

Didn\'t have Sircharleswhatever, weak sire turf #\'s & trainer dirt to turf, nor Roaring Fever had to cut someone, oh well there\'s Del Mar Wednesday at $250k to start.

May they all come home safely!

I can\'t conclude that he didn\'t have it.  Day gave Erins Storm a 4 length lead before he even moved a muscle.  Maybe Coincide would have won, maybe he wouldn\'t have.  He absolutely zero chance the way he was ridden.

Actually Sircharleschnabel was the best bet of the day.

How else do you explain a nothing record by a non-turf horse and a horrible trainer angle leading to a hammering at the windows?

I bet it when it was a 5-1 underlay, then watched it get bet to 5-2 and only regretted at that point that I had not bet a lot more than I did.

Sometimes you just gotta believe.

Credit to OPM who noted in our discussion that Serpe had been trying to run this horse on grass for the last two months to no avail as race after race came off the turf.

The connections (who are not shy at the windows) obviously knew he\'d take to the surface.

OPM

Ah Shucks, I\'ll take credit now but Cash this weekend!!!

NEW YORK (AP) - Buy the Sport returned home from Europe and pulled off a major upset in the $250,000 Gazelle Handicap on Saturday, defeating favored Lady Tak by a half-length with a furious stretch run.
Sent off at odds of 48-1, the New York-bred not only beat Lady Tak but also ran away from two other top 3-year-old fillies, Spoken Fur and Island Fashion.

Under a patient ride by Pat Day, Buy the Sport came flying down the stretch and surprised Lady Tak and jockey Jerry Bailey, catching the 4-5 favorite in the final strides.

OPM

Thanks, the ex paid good.  At 48-1 you can be patient because if you don\'t get up no one cares!!!
