Other Stakes On Derby Day

For those curious about the Derby undercard, the Churchill Downs website offers
past performances for all runners nominated for the stakes races on Derby Day.

One of the nominees in the Humana Distaff (F/M, 3 and UP, 7f Main) (and I have no
idea if her connections intend to run her) is fascinating to me. Allow me to
introduce the 6YO mare Twelve Twenty Two.

As a 2YO, TTT ran 4 times, breaking her maiden at Pollywood in her season finale.

Her lone start as a 3YO, in February of \'08, was in the California Oaks at Golden
Gate where she ran third, tiring after leading for most of the way in her first
try at 2 turns.

After missing the remaining ten months of 2008 and all of 2009, TTT returned to
the races at Pollywood on December of 2010. After the 32 month layoff, Ron Ellis
dropped her in for 25K. TTT is favored at 8/5, runs 8th in a field of 9, and gets
claimed from the Jay Em Ess stable.

Taken to Sunland Park in 2011, TTT runs off a 4 race win streak, culminating with
a dominant win an ungraded 100k stake at one mile, running a lifetime best BSF of
99 under J Leparoux.

Will she run in Louisville next week? If she does, could she be the 2011 version
of Arizona based Washington bred Atta Boy Roy, who won the CD Hcp on Derby Day
2010 at a $22 mutuel?
