Can anyone who likes his chances please explain why.

I see nothing more than another Dean\'s Kitten.  Any reason(s) I may be wrong?

Good Luck,
Joe B.

If you check out gradeoneracing.com, headed by Steve Davidowitz, read his column on his list of derby contenders.  Animal Kingdom is ranked 11th, though he points out that even Team Valor needs to see how he responds to working on dirt before making a comittment.  But his big move in the Spiral is the kind needed to win at 1 1/4.  The three main reasons I am interested in him are: 1) no one else is 2) Barry Irwin will only put him in if he thinks his chances are realistic and 3) I haven\'t seen anything else  impressive and I don\'t know anyone who has.  And should be a decent price if he does go.

Will work Saturday at Churchill with Robby Albarado up, and that will determine whether or not he runs in the Derby.

If I were to rank the horses in this field, Animal Kingdom would be dead last.

I don\'t think I\'ve ever seen a U.S. horse with the centuries of turf breeding in EVERY SINGLE LINE of this one\'s pedigree.  I\'ll retire from the game if this one pops a new top at Churchill Downs.  I mean, there\'s not even a speck of dirt, or grain of dust in that DNA to hang your hopes on.  When\'s the last time a Dark Ronald descendant made it to the gates here?

What are they thinking?  This looks like nothing more than a hail mary stud play by Team Valor.   I would hope Graham Motion would talk sense into them.

That being said, they got a hell of a future synth/turf champion on their hands IMO.

He\'s suppose to work Saturday.   If he goes and they wise up and decide not to run him, that\'ll let in Anthony\'s Cross who although slow now, looks ripe for a big forward move.

Animal Kingdom has some dirt in his sire line.
Candy Stripes sired grade 1 dirt winners Different and Invasor.

Give me five, boys, I gotta brag!!

Congrats, but his post time odds were, shall we say...a little bit of an underlay, and by a little I mean...a lot.

Hope you killed it, doc! Congrats.

Well done if you had this guy. The Derby for me has basically become a Lotto ticket race. Happy for you man. Hope you\'re able to enjoy the winnings!

Sek, you angered the racing gods. Go check the person to person message I sent the other day.

Congrats to TG poster Barry Irwin, Johnny V and Angel Cordero, who can now boast being a Derby winning jockey and a Derby winning agent. (I always knew Angel would be a great agent).

One super valuable horse now. Well bred for turf and now you know he has classic distance stamina and dirts. A rare combination.

Yes, congrats to Barry Irwin. NBC had him on camera with a quote of something like .... \" the reason I switched to G. Motion is he\'s the only trainer who has not lied to me.\"  Anyone have any further comments on this? (not that a trainer would lie)

Will JV split anything with Robby A?

Congrats to Barry Irwin, Team Valor, Graham Motion, JV, for finally catching lightning in a bottle.  Well done.
