Rachel in the Haskel now.

Take\'n on boys for the 2nd time in a race that is probably ESPN televised.

Went to NY and Goosed her competition at Big Sandy in between.

Anybody complaining about his powerplay takeover of the filly now?

Going back to 1980, when they got Spectacular Bid to run in the Haskell
(it was for 3YO+ back then) the Kulina Crew has always done well getting the
marquee names down there for the big race.

Watch for Asmussen to run big at Monmouth next couple of weeks as Extra races
are written overnight to accomodate SA\'s runners.

Hope there is not a giveaway that day. Would like to see if Rachalk could get
30,000 spins of the turnstile.

I think if RA crushes some more tomato cans at the Shore, she runs again in
September and then heads for Synthetic Anita, either BC Ladies (yeah, RA v.
Zenyachta, have a feeling the race switches to Saturday) or the Classic.

If she wasn\'t going BC, I think she would have run in the more prestigious race,
the Travers, though to be fair the Travers is less $$ (don\'t worry, there are
cash incentives for the Jackson/Asmussen crew) and more distance.

If the intention is to keep her on dirt, would love to see her in the NYRA Mile
at Thanksgiving time.

Ritchie she will get 30,000 spins givaway or not.

I just hope ESPN doesn\'t have a Little League Baseball or Lacrosse game on before the Haskel telecast. When they run over like they always do the 147 people actually watching those events will miss Rachel.

The rest of us horseplayers will have gone TVG or Online long before then.......

Actually, Haskell Day has drawn more than 40,000 people in each of the last eight years, so I would expect at least that many this year.

Richie.  The clamdiggers are already lining up for their Haskell baseball caps.

Traditionally, the line for the caps exceeds any of the betting lines at Monmouth on Haskell Day.

MG:

I\'m not a big fan of racetrack giveaways, though I will spin madly for the NYRA
calendar each January 1. And I do have a free Belmont beer stein which set me
back more than $300.

I do not know why they need to give a baseball cap away on a day when they are
featuring arguably the best horse in training, but its been going on for years.

As I said earlier, would be interesting to see how many people would turn out
without the promo.

Anthony Afrunti, reporting on Rachalk\'s Shore appearance in today\'s New York
Post, said it was possible that RA could crush some tomato cans in the Haskell
AND run in the Travers 3 weeks later, which would likely result in a
reconvening of the hand wringing \"LEAVE RACHEL ALONE\" contingent.

Silver Charm

Ritchie and Monmouth Guy,

Rachel put 23,000+ in the stands for the Mother Goose at Big Empty.

She will do twice that much here...........
