That\'s a tough beat for Spring of Fame, who\'s bred well for dirt (maybe a tough beat for this whole Ky Derby Challenge idea). Rough trip, comes flying like he\'ll love 10f, but loses a neck to what looks to be a turf/poly horse who may or may not excel going longer.

both Godsen horses are nominated for the BG, he\'s said he would run prep (run in the Blue Grass) at Keeneland if they won this.  wouldn\'t be shocked to see both show up here.

Nice chart and web-sight.

Using Racingpost RPR numbers, the sheets numbers and race report I would guess the winner ran something near a 7+, second place a 7 and third an 8. So Mafaaz would have a nice pattern  but the Blue Grass will be a very hard race depending upon his opponents.

There are guys who make their living making figures that get them wrong by a whole lot more than that.

The UK figures mostly don\'t include ground loss, but that one does, since we saw the race. So we might give him a little better than others on that one.

On turf, ground loss matters less in the UK than here, simply because there are less turns (a lot of sprints down straightaways, routes around one turn). All weather is a different story, and we\'re working on it, but it may be next year before we really have it tight.
