The race is sure to have plenty of traffic and trying to assess the trip of some horses is a critical exercise.  Sometimes the jockey and his tendencies can weigh heavy on the analysis.  Usually, I feel very on top of which jockeys are riding well and which are not.  This year I am out of touch.  Anybody care to offer fresh, relevant, and insightful comments on the current form of the various jockeys as they are coming into in this year\'s race?

Tuff question. I believe a jockey gets hot, when he has hot horses. I am a firm believer that the horse makes that jock, not the other way around. That said, Kent D. is the hottest in the country, he tore up Keeneland and Saratoga. He has already won the derby twice, with  2-1 and 8-1 horses, respectively.

Lost Cause

I\'ll chime in with my list...

Garrett Gomez - In my opinion the strongest closing jockey in the game right now

Edgar Prado - The cerebral assassin - he puts his horses in great positions.

Kent Desormeaux - Never one of my favorites but he is riding lights out the past year

Johnny V. - Always stellar, not as good as before he went down with the shoulder surgery but still one of the best out there.

RafaelBejarano - Do you want anyone else on your horse in California right now?

Cornelio Velasquez - Always overlooked but one of the hardest trying jocks around.

Completly overrated jocks :

Julien Leparoux - He likes to make his move on the outside rail every race...

Ramon Dominguez - Can only beat bad jocks in a race ala Russell Baze...Anytime he faces good jocks he better have the best horse..

Shaun Bridgmohan - If he did not have Asmussen\'s horses (usually the best horse in the race) he can\'t win ..

I\'m not an expert, nor do I know how he compares nationally-but Coa is ITM half the time, and has become well known for pulling off upsets at Aqua. He seems to do whatever is needed to win.
