Any opinions on trainer Louis Roussel Jr?  Looks to be the same connections that brought us Risen Star back in 1988 have entered RecapturetheGlory in the Illinois Derby on Saturday.  Comes into this 2nd off the layoff and turf to dirt and the 2nd to CoolCoal Man back in Nov. at CD doesn\'t look too bad.  If he can close off the pace he might be able to hit the board in this one at a nice price.  Thoughts?

No opinion on Roussel, but it should be noted that this colt was a late Triple Crown nominee.

This one seems to prefer setting or attending the pace, so I\'m not sold that he can close against these. And he very well could be a candidate for pacesetter given his post and since Golden Spikes is shedding his blinkers. Hard to get a read on Z Humor\'s probable pace impact.

I\'m leaning towards Real Appeal as a closer who should like 9f and inject value into the tri/ex.

I loved the horse for 2nd, which got me nothing.

great call Wrong.

Hope that you nailed that Wrongly.  I still don\'t know anything about Roussel but he  put a first-timer in the winner\'s circle in the race after the the Ill Derby, just for fun.  Nice trip to Chicago for his charges.

Very strange Ill Derby. Virtually no change of position from start to finish. Not sure what to make of it, except that my future bet tickets on DoC are now not worthy of tight security.

This is a bit or redboarding..but had the whole enchilada as D of C is another closing runner with a race void of speed. 1 & 6 eacata..and Super..just started 3 mins of of wow wow wow..that plus The wood...again the whole enchilada...win.tri....etc..followed by the Kee Last two races.....it was enough to get the BP going!!!!

Can\'t wait to read the dissing of Kee thread once again
