We had seats on the clubhouse turn and it didn\'t require a telescope to see puddles formed along the inside path. Not suprising since Monmouth\'s turf course is sharply banked.

So where does \"Clueless Leparoux\" place COSMONAUT who broke to an uncontested lead??.....along the rail, of course. Need to save ground, right Frogie??...yeah, gotta get away from Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse, see!!!

Good Luck,

Two comments:

1) Cosmonaut was a bit off the rail, and Kip Deville (the winner) was directly behind him on the clubhouse turn and slightly to his inside on the backstretch and through the far turn. English Channel was in the same path on the clubhouse turn in the Turf. Saving ground mattered more. I\'m sure Velasquez would have preferred Cosmonaut\'s trip than the \"drier\" one he got with NoBiz.

2) \"Frogie\"(sp) is an offensive slur for saying \"french\". What does his country of origin have to do with any of this? What would you have posted if he was African-American? Italian? Chinese?

Slewzapper:

On point#1 ...I disagree. ENGLISH CHANNEL was so much the best it didn\'t matter if he was running in quicksand. Additionally, fractions were not as demanding going that long. With a DRF variant of close to 50, translate COSMONAUT\'s 1:14 for 6f. Besides, KIP DEVILLE came off of the inside for the stretch run and EXCELLENT ART closed well off of the inside. I actually do better if COSMONAUT runs second.

On Point#2....I agree with you. Can\'t let anger spill into that kind of post. My bad!!!

Good Luck,
Joe B.

I am in harmony with this objection; if nothing else, I lived there.
That makes it seem more than it is, but it seems over the top of our
image.

Cosmonaut has been a bit of a failure this year.

His lone win this year (that matters) was a slow paced Arlington Hdcp where he only gave up 4 pounds and saved all the ground. Other then that his lines all look the same.

2 length lead at a Kee (course he is fond of) - gets caught.

Loses half a length in the stretch in the Bernard Baruch as the favorite.

1.5 length lead in the Manhattan while getting weight, gets caught.

Now we complain he got a bad ride in the Mile since he got caught? His lines told you he would do that.....
