I want the win pool.

TGJB,

I want to interview for the job of writing a win pool \"column\" on your ROTW.
I would love to have 5 minutes of your time, to propose to you a next step in
a wonderful relationship, maybe for the game. I dream big. I will testify to the efficacy of your firm, anytime, anywhere and be sincere, wordy or brief, in a suit or jeans.

What I would love most to do, in this my 63rd year, is qualify for a win pool consulting paragraph that could either go on the ROTW or another place of our choosing. I have watched with intent, every race in New York for the last 20 years, so many three times that it would stupid. Am I\'m not, just right brained.
I begged a guy in Ceasar\'s Tahoe to let me pay for a numnber - I demo\'d it, and it was stunning, but he was nuts and insisted that it wasn\'t perfect, even though I offered to fund the project. I lost my temper and started raging at him in the Racebook, and around some nice people, so I banished myself from that book, until I was invited back, by my favorite \"old style player.

I promise to be completely candid in any dialogue, here or privately. You can interview me here. My goal would be to contribute to win pool DNA, so that some of us who were dedicated to \"winning\" at any cost, share. I have a million true stories among which are how many times I bet Pompei and why, that bay that won the Sixty Sails. Starting with TG, after 20 years of paying attention with intention and limited, or at least in my mind, option. So, it was intense. I have children (7), step, bio and adopted, all of whom would testify as to life with Dad as he plays horses. Hasn\'t been easy, but this is plenty good enough, if it never gets better than it feels right now.

Jennifer Lewis really spoke for me on Oprah\'s show. I considered that ironic as I had email blitzed Oprah, (only one of its kind, a me) when she treated the same subject with obvious ignorance a few years ago, when I lived on Tahoe\'s west shore.             December when its not so busy,

how about that for worst case, you agree to give me 5 minutes on the phone, during which I can state  why you should talk to me longer. My email is my name hyphenated at yahoo.

Someone has to uphold win players, it should be in the breed, the element at least. Since the Pacific Class I have known I should hurry and get in on this number and it makes the rest of my life make sense,

Just in the name of fun, and I mean exactly that, I would love if my life ended with me touching with your firm for 5 minutes a week, and for one of them, you wanted to listen. I told the race book manager in Harrah\'s Tahoe, Steve Schoor, that he really shouldn\'t take Lemon Drop Kid in the Belmont and I loved the feeling of contribution. He liked me, but he didn\'t believe that; he didn\'t believe there could be REASON behind that, and that hurt my feelings.

Lastly, I don\'t want to be an ass here, but I am in a very remote location, and I don\'t think anyone here knows I play everyday, although they wonder. If they find out here, so be it, I just wouldn\'t choose to put it in their face, but they could take it by now, so that is safe. Soooo, tell me how to act here, five minutes won\'t hurt, you have to have 5 minutes for someone that has stayed the win pool and can prove it to your satisfaction.

I think I have a great life for a book, I want to make sure the finish is as it should be. I exercise, not for my health but to stay in the game. Well, it\'s the same thing. Here\'s exactly what I mean; I would think it was very cool, if in 20 months, I had won a million dollars with this tool, and we had a book, maybe a movie. ok, tell me how to contribute other than buy $200 a day. I am in that phase that says thank god. OK, very  last thing, before I start telling the whole truth, I did bet Shakespeare to win, but I was embarrassed to say that - I also did lose the same wager on Red Zipper just as I posted. In fact, I used that win bet to cement a relationship with a pace player that I think can make some good noise. But that\'s the only fudge and I told him I was embarrassed to say that, so I could get a witness.

I apologize for this message if you read this far, but if you did, at least I must sound sincere? Room still for delusional, etc., and I do have papers. Most can\'t prove they are sane, on paper. Some guys go to school, and so go crazy. When you have time. It\'s a book. fun

Horseplay!

go for it skip, they say 60 is the new 40 and 40 is the new 30 (thnx be to God for that one).  Why not start a new venture. TG, while you are considering applications:  can I have a \"Dear Sandie Column\" for all fellow fashionistas who love handicapping/thoroughbred racing and don\'t want to clutter your board with their questions ??

Joking, REAL QUEST:  Is/was there a pool for the BC: If yes, when is the next one?  Can you give me the dates? thnx v. much.

I tend to agree with spa on SS, unfortunately.  I think his day came and went so he is a bet against for me in the BC, probably.  We\'ll see how he fares next race !!

Being a great spot win player isn\'t a new venture for me,
I would just like to play on a major league team. Boys play
team sports. Given how this game is received in some quarters,
I have been alone for a long time, and at this advanced age,
I have finally discovered a need for winning not only money,
but respect. I have been in denial about that a long time.

So, now I am out of the closet, I want the money and the glory.
OK, to God the glory, but the truth is helping someone else win
is more than fun, and applause is nice, too. If you play horses,
the acceptance of your neigbors, your community, your peers takes
on a little different meaning, and I am at the age/stage, where I
do want my children to be proud; I want in the Hall of Fame, is
what I really want I guess; me and Pete Rose!

I told a story here about the gold run in \'79; it was a true story.
I have many of those stories, mostly about horses, that are true.
My next level will be to use these figures to win onthousanddimes,
but my favorite way of doing that would be to do it in public, so
as to make a better story. But the story will sell, either way,
because it\'s true and it is unusual, and it has great hooks. Spots,
that\'s me. I can wait.

Have a great day, and a winning week end.

Where is this job ad that people are applying for???

Sandie

sorry, we should get back to handicapping.  Esp. with the big weekend coming up.  What\'s that expression: When the cat\'s away...??  Was all in fun.  No ad.

I wonder if there is something appropriate to do with this board time. I am in my office from no later than Thursday PM to play across the week end, or until I cry uncle, which is sometimes early Saturday afternoon. Other than exercise, stretching, sleeping, and eating, this screen is in front of my face, or within sight, at least.

My direct inquiry to the board is:

1) Is civilized chat about racing ok in off times, or
2) What does the board serve? What is our charter?

Every time we say go back to handicapping, no one talks, and if the feature to day was any example, I would see why. I want to represent others in the manner most deemed appropriate by the host and members. I just haven\'t experienced this mode of life til now. It\'s Like Sunday Morning,

It feels nice to be here, and thank you all.
Just to illustrate my point, should anyone want to talk about
any racing related question, I entertain conversation, as you surely noticed.
I might ask the mgt if I can change my handle to FAN, figures!

Speed, surface, position, distance, seasons, riders, trainers, stake horses, fillies, game, are all my favorite things, almost. Being ready for a NY card is my best favorite, ever.

That has been my point for quite some time. Seems to me the board has gravitated towards griping about POLY/Juice/ Trainers & or Horses that have been juiced, superfluous pompous writers to be left nameless, plus an ever occasional TG/Mercedes stable put over (not implying anything negative here either) , if you are paying attention. Handicapping is not the primary mission of this board any longer.

But anyway, it can be salvaged. Alan B is quite the handicapper, as I have come to find over the past few years. Listen to his radio advice, Steve Byk does a great job using the product on his show/board as well.

Me thinks TGJB needs to set up two boards, one for pure handicapping and one for the rest of the stuff that seems to permeate the board. Maybe you need to pay for the handicapping board a certain small fee just to keep it pure. Just a thought.

What do you think would be fair?

I so agree that the non-handicapping related drivel has gotten old on this board. In EVERY sport there are individuals bending the rules to get an edge. (Imagine wagering on cycling?) But I believe the beauty of Thorograph is that it gives us an EDGE over other horseplayers. So over these next few weeks of top-notch fall racing I plan to go out on the \"edge\" and post some picks. Please join in.

What follows are what I sent to a friend of mine who\'s on his annual Vegas excursion:

Belmont Race 8
#3 Masseuse looks like great value to me. Betting her to win and boxing with #7 Rossinka.

Belmont Race 9
That would be the ROTW. I differ slightly from the analysis in choosing #2 Jet Propulsion to live up to that name on top. Exacta with #3 Kavafi and #6 Trippi\'s Storm.

Turfway Park Race 9
#12 I\'m In Love to win and place. Exacta box with #1 Danzon.

Santa Anita Race 7
Bomber #3 Sunday Geisha. Exactas with the 1 and 8.

Hawthorne Race 10
At the weights #4 Extreme Supreme to win.

Santa Anita Race 9
I\'ll go with the #3 Lewis Michael and #4 Tiago combo. Ending the day with doubles to #2 Midnighter in the last.

Good luck and enjoy on channel 602.

I like the bomber too. Rooting for Student Council but can\'t quibble with your choice in the Gold Cup. You did steal my thunder a bit (we\'ll see later today) and in the Redboard Room tomorrow with one of the selections.

BEL 7 - Symphony of Psalms - new top off the long layoff, backed up to secondary top off short rest when tried @ 9f for 1st time, been given 6 weeks off since, Frankel\'s good w/30-89 days off, going well L90 days, and en fuego last few days, good works, 2-2 over BEL Widener. Rewrite progressed well this year, obvious threat; hasn\'t raced in two months and shows one 3f breeze since, puzzling. Factual Contender is consistent and fast enough; may face too much pace pressure from Tishmeister and/or Lauren\'s Tizzy. Jesse\'s Justice sports good record but is slower than several these on TG, so will bet against @ short price.

BEL 8 - Wait A While looks tough, obvious, and a short price. Was very impressed w/the way Royal Highness ran down Irridescence in Beverly D. Hard to go past these two. Might give My Typhoon another chance, at least to crack the gimmicks, just on contrarian logic; guessing she\'ll go at least a couple notches higher than her 4-1 m.l. off the fiasco last out, and though she probably doesn\'t want this far, was 1.5 L behind @ stretch call going 11f in BC last year, and she sports a long string of figs that put her right in this. Al. Tango closed fast off slow pace in last and would consider at a big price; have hunch they\'re going to bet her in here.

BEL 9 - Though he looks a touch slower on TG than some of the others here I can\'t resist Kavafi and his 6-2-1 record in 13 starts @ a mile, gets Lasix, should get pace to run at. There was a discussion on this board recently about gut feeling, etc., thinking of that as I try to figure out just why Palace Episode scares me, saw the last race in person and for some reason like the way he looked, flashed talent as a juvenile, obviously got hurt; just rounding back into form? Trippi\'s Storm the other must use. Would consider throwing Woodlander in 3rd/4th on the off chance that he runs back to his occasional mildly competitive # w/the aid of a pace battle - surprised to see him fire a best-of-19 5f work on 9/16.

BEL 10 - Elusive Fox has speed and a competitive fig in this field of chronic losers, gets in light. Body Blows\'s opening # puts him on the fringes, and he\'s stuck outside, but in a field loaded w/1-fer pigs, have to consider a horse who won 1st out while overcoming trouble. The rail horse is a threat off last two #s but would use him in gimmicks, not on top, off 1-13 record.

SA 10th - Wing Forward - the old new face in a lousy field of regulars theory, working well, DRF tr. stats show he\'s good w/new stock and off layoffs, and, though the sample size is so small as to be probably meaningless, he is 3 for 5 adding Lasix. Would be happy w/ 1/2 the 12-1 ML.

Happy wagering, everyone.

SA race #7......The Golden Noodle will run a good one at 40/1 !!!!!!!

If I get that far intact, given my narrow comfort zone, the picture of Hard Spun galloping wide into the first turn in the Lane\'s End, and carrying on as if he were a fun thing, remains. And he punched me in the head while on First Defence. They are almost announcing or so it seems, the likely scenario. Can it be that simple? Embarrassing to think so small.

I listened to marcus last night and his take on HAW strip validated my own this past week, I will have that feed on to check as we go.
