Super Frolic looks pretty good to come back saturday -   since his 4 yo year of racing he\'s run well off similar spots in his pattern twice before . My only question is : What kind of trifecta price will there be ? I\'m considering a tri - key 1x2x2 : Super Frolic over the horse off the buried figure ( DM ) and the longshot ( IC ) from the outside ...

But he\'s coming from Dubai. Do North American horses returning from Dubai ever win first back? Your move.

not sure about the trend here , but i like that the horse got some needed time off and could be coming back .  win on the buried fig does make sense though -  can\'t argue w/ that  , and tri p/w instead of key is probably more like it .

In the last three months I have seen 3 horses win, first time back from Dubai. I believe it is becoming a myth that horses are ruined if they go over there.

And for the record, VG did, in the Foster, same timing as this. My concern is the last 2, not Dubai. No clue what he will do.

Last weekend we had a horse finish second by a nose on Belmont Day on Turf.(2 horse who\'s name escapes me now)

He ran good.

Looks like he might keep Lava Man on grass.

I guess he ran OK, but the field was very weak for a G2.  He doesn\'t appear to be the same horse he was last year.

miff

Except for Lava Man the older horses appear to be a rather common bunch this year.

That SUPER FROLIC finished a whopping half-length in front of the 35-1 THAT\'S AN OUTRAGE, a 5 year old rat who just won his NW1 condition [via a DQ!] is a statement on the quality of horses in California $250k G2\'s for older horses. Seeing as SF saved ground with a good trip, it would seem as though he came back to something on the order of a 2.75 ThoroGraph. [I presume the wider-trip winner, Julio Canani\'s DIXIE MEISTER, paired up his 1. Since Canani got DM from Asmussen, the animal is establishing the prototypical steroided-horse line. P.S.: I\'m interested in what Canani\'s NATURAL PHENOMENON jumped to in Hollywood\'s 5th yesterday. He won off-the-claim... by over 10 lengths! LOL!]

In any case, it seems to me that a 2.75-ish ThoroGraph sets SUPER FROLIC up for further recovery forges towards the negative number he ran in the Breeder\'s Cup, which should do some damage down the line this Summer at Del Mar [the Pacific Classic in late August?] and beyond.

By the way... the exacta of The Californian paid an unbelievable $88! Truly amazing.

Irrespective of the final number, Hollywood is many times a difficult track to close into. Super Frolic did that. (Caveat this is stated without a full card review) If the race had been at 10 poles, its very likely Frolic wins.

It was a Forge race. He was coming off two poor efforts and this one says he\'s back on the competitive side of the ledger.

This horse wants 10 poles. With the right timing theres a mile and a quarter Grade I with his name out there somewhere. Apparently his connections are betting him down pretty good. Figured to get a little better than he went off at.

looks ( to me ) like this ones going to the BC - where does he prep ? what next ? only the shadow and jerry knows for sure ... although he\'s run good numbers at different tracks , i bet this horse would love not to travel ( to close to a race ) for a while . i was just studying his sheet again this morning and wondering why he was run on the turf after that 1st 4 yo turf number at crc , he never came close to his best and those grass races seemed to set him back a bit . big congrats to everyone involved w/ SF for a measured , patient approach to bringing this horse back around !
