\"Working before the renovation break, Barbaro worked five furlongs in 59.48 seconds under exercise rider Peter Brette. Trainer Michael Matz was only looking for a half-mile work, but Barbaro, from the half-mile pole, rolled through fractions of 13.06 seconds, 25.06, 35.70, 47.21 and was caught galloping out six furlongs in 1:12.14.\"

Take a look at this ones eighths 12, 10.64,11.51. Mike Welch, drf, writes a rather flattering clockers report on this one.

The issue with you has nothing to do with handicapping, it has to do with annoying the crap out of me and everyone else to get the attention you crave. If you insult anyone again (i.e. idiocy), you\'re gone. Again.

Meanwhile, show where you went on record in advance on the Derby. As I recall you took a lot of heat for prior redboarding, and so finally came out with a pick in the 04 Derby in advance, which won. Don\'t remember any before that.

I don\'t know if it\'s relavent or not...but nobody gave Kent D. any credit in this whole thread about his ride on Fu Peg. ABC had the iso/zoom cam on him the whole way around. If you ever get a chance...find that footage and you will see the most perfect derby ride ever. Period...A hand ride too....

bellsbendboy

Mike some clockers got him in :46 flat for a half. Best derby work since maybe General Assembly (57 and change) many moons ago. He clearly is a turf horse looking at his action and his pedigree, and I am still probably tossing him but it was very impressive indeed. bbb

In hopes of avoiding a protracted message recounting past Derby glories from the War Room (and so that he can focus on whether Kent Desormeaux did or did not get a wake-up call from his Louisville hotel this morning), I\'m reposting a couple of archived posts by Chuckles (who was apparently then going by Tabitha):

My Derby selection is War Emblem to win. War Emblem boxed with Saarland and Harlan\'s Holiday. Minor box with Request for Parole.

Funny Cide is my key horse. I will not be betting as much to win on him as War Emblem but consider him my winner. I like his Slewacide breeding.

One of my personal favorites is Shoemakers ride on Ferdinand

Bell,

I agree he may be a grass horse ultimately, but any horse with internal splits like him is always very dangerous. If he continues to train up big, I\'ll use him the most.I\'ve got knocks on a couple of the shorter priced runners and the over rated one paced Bob and John.Love Baffy, but his prior record in this race means nothing to me.

Yeah, I was here pre 9/11 when some wondered what happened to the clown after 9/11 . Many wondered wondered what happenend to him.

CTC2 - That sounds about a 1000% right , I didn\'t need a race replay to see that Alex wasn\'t moving well - I thought it was partially  a result of stress and fatigue of the horse not taking to the track and that perhaps the overall Derby Day experience was a huge energy drain for the horse  - it happens . One time I saw a horse at MTH run poorly becouse he didn\'t like the sound of the starting gate bell , whether it was the pitch or tone of the bell no one will really ever know .

Also CTC , everyone knows your extremely knowlegable when it comes to racing and once in a red moon can post some funny stuff at times . But really , let some of this stuff go and take it easy on TG and some of the Ask the Experts posters a little bit , specially this time of year - I\'m busy and I\'m really not doing anything , I can only imagine how busy are those who work in the biz this week . I know it get\'s crazy this week and maybe , if your not to to bad ,  can get back around BC time if you get bounced now ...

Right now I see you at about 9-5 to get tossed this week  - sound about right ? So let me ask you in advance , Do you think Sinister Minister , Keyed Entry , First Samurai will be in the 25 to 40-1 range when they run - just trying to guess how the money will go .

I never told the board how I discovered evidence of the 9-11 plot pre attack and tried to warn the Bush White House but was taken in for interrogation and not released until post attack?

Seriously, Elmont or Saratoga Springs are the only civilized towns in that State. That 24 dollar trinket island holds no allure for me. Upstate is still beautiful.

Bitplayer pretty much dug up the posts. They are posted under the Moniker Tabitha. Its a long story. But anyway, if you doubt Tabitha is me, I resurrected her in the diatribe with Mandown over the efficacy of Projection.

The Funny Cide post was a minute before post time. The War Emblem post the night before.

If you want the losing year 2000 Anees, its in there somewhere too and I can dig it up.

I need to find the politically correct way of pointing out to people their perceptions are skewed I guess. How could anyone favor Noble Causeway in the Ben Ali? Rose did everything he could to give that one paced animal a chance in that race. He just never had a chance on that surface against that winner.  Jerry did you like Noble Causeway? Did you think he was gonna Zito Pop? Be honest. What chance did you give him in that race. I thought 3rd was a heckuva result.

I\'m thinking I\'m about Even Money to make an involuntary exit. Jerry and I have a Love Hate relationship. I love myself and he hates that...lol

Good point about there being stress in the air. I\'ve made no bones about my regard for SnS. I\'m stressed that Desormeaux can\'t be a professional leading up to a Derby with some very talented horses, many sitting on big races. I\'d seriously like to see him replaced. If this was a Corporate America decision he\'d be gone or sitting on Mobil Exxon\'s Board of Directors. I don\'t want him sitting upon that horse however.

I guess some of the board regulars have jockey loyalties. I have no allegiance to jockeys. They are tools. I\'m proposing a shiny new tool. Others like the rusty old tool thats worked for them in the past. Sometimes those old tools have already seen their best days though.

Regarding your odds question, I\'m assuming you are referring to the Breeders Cup at Churchill, because First Samurai is way off the Derby Trail. I think First Samurai will run in the Breeders Cup, but it will be in the Sprint or the Mile. I\'m guessing he winds up in the Mile. The same will be true for Keyed Entry by that time, Sprint or Mile. Sinister Minister is a whole nuther issue. By the B.C. he will probably be retired or mentioned in the same breath as Dr. Fager.

>I\'m stressed that Desormeaux can\'t be a professional

Agreed, if he was tucking bucks at the Longfield Deja Vu or hung over or doing something even worse, people need to know it. The Derby ride requires premiere concentration, none of the above are good for that. The late Ronnie Hansen Derby week stories, like the late John Matuzak Super Bowl week stories, are still told around Louisville. Kent is apparently auditioning for the part now .

>If this was a Corporate America decision he\'d be gone or sitting on Mobil Exxon\'s Board of Directors.

Or on the Magna Board.

>I\'m proposing a shiny new tool.

See Call 1-888-976-GARY post. He kicked his ass three times in a row with Silver Charm/Free House. He would do it again.

Silver, I read you \"Just Call Gary\" post. He\'d be a perfect fit for Silver Cha....I mean Sweetnorthernsaint. Same pace style as the 1997 Derby per my eye.

Heck they ought to hire Gary for Barbaro. He\'d beat up Desormeaux and take his lunch money same way they did in grade school.

Sinister had a very interesting work yesterday. Baffert said he didn\'t \"Wow\" him. It wasn\'t the fastest of the day either and if you scan Sinisters work lines he always runs the fastest of the day. That is until yesteray. He was a full second plus slower than Lawyer Ron and Sharp Humor. What to make of that? However, he was moving effortless according to observers and he did unleash a late burst per radio instruction. He was under restraint the whole way and he DID effectively change to his left lead which is something he did not do in his prior two races. What to make of that?

>He was under restraint the whole way and he DID effectively change to his left lead which is something he did not do in his prior two races. What to make of that?

Sinister is razor sharp and full of run now.

>He\'d beat up Desormeaux and take his lunch money same way they did in grade school.

I doubt that he would have to even throw punch with this candy.

I just called 1-888-976-GARY and its been busy for the last 15 minutes. You think that means something.......
