Saddlecloth Colors

I noticed that the horses in both the Blue Grass and the Arkansas Derby this weekend were all wearing the same saddlecloth colors (I think blue in the Blue Grass and white in Arkansas).  What\'s up with that?  It\'s hard enough to follow horses in the back of a large field with the frequent camera changes on network TV.  This makes it worse.  I thought the idea was to move in the opposite direction, so that, for example, the #1 horse would always wear a red saddlecloth, no matter what track you are watching.
