how much of a jump does point determined have in him? first two figures were a great start to a career, but last two a bit stale. is this guy stuck at the \"6\" lvl, or has baffert been waiting for this race to crank him up? have to think it\'s the latter, but doubt there\'s much value in that opinion..... thoughts?

Your right not much value for the 5-6th fastest in race with that tight spacing. However, with the expected rain, it may help since the sire profile is faster off vs fast, as well as the dam\'s #\'s which were best on off. Bob and john isn\'t even the fastest off that last number, seems like another major underlay. And by the way, BLUEGRASS CAT looks pretty vulnerable to me.

I\'m liking A.P. Warrior ( to move forward ) a little bit and am using AP in a contest becouse of the  good 2 yo pattern and will excuse the bounce in 3 yo debut last time - but it\'s no great bet thats for sure .  Twin Turbo looks like an A  play in the 4th race sat though ...

after a few looks, i think i am siding with new joysey jeff at ml of 10-1. his pair of \"6.5\'s\" won\'t be enough, but he could improve. only had 13 days to prepare for his two turn debut, but he closed well into a :25.3 final quarter while finishing second to refinery. should get a decent pace today, and the extra distance should help. could be looking at a late closing third, but at decent odds, NJJ is my key.

that was nice handicapping Marcus. excuse APW\'s last (tu rank), as you did, and he fit well. PD ran a good race, seems to have picked it up a bit. Bob made no sense at even money. NJJ was awful.

Thanks - I had questions about PD as well ...  Bob And John looked like an Editors Note type , just giving that same number untill eventually improving ( or bouncing ) later in the season . There were a couple ways to go on this one ,  AP got a trip and caught the grain of the track  .

 Nice job w/ TG ROTW in the Gothem giving out that huge price and I think they had another big one eariler on the SA undercard - just another day at the office for these guys !

Not sure I agree with an assessment that Bob and John paired again. You\'re gonna have to factor the poor break and the wide. Once you do that don\'t see how you can figure he ran another 5.  

My assessment is that he ran well, faster than a five, and was beaten about 2 lengths. He ran faster than a 1.43 but was probably sitting on a regression and regressed. He finally got to Point Determined and then came up short. It looked like a step backwards to me, but if you think he ran a top last, a backward slide was forseeable, especially at Even Money.

Marcus, let me refresh your memory regarding the ROTW and LIKE NOW. He was not called in the overview and this is what was said about him in the rundown:

\"Wasn\'t much of a juvenile, but moved up considerably over the last couple months with the rest of McLaughlin\'s barn. This one gets about a point in weight from the favorites, has a pedigree thats o.k. on both sides for the distance and has figures that are good enough to make him a BORDERLINE contender.\" emphasis added.

If you went to the Selection Service this was said:

\"2nd Choice Keyed Entry enters off a very fast figure and Big Top. Bounce at a short price very possible. Exacta Box Achilles of Troy and Sweetnorthernsaint and Key Achilles over SNS and Like Now in Exactas and Triples.\"

I\'m not sure how you read that, but I read it tearing up tickets because I came very close to the same bet and had to tear up mine. But if you say I won I won\'t look a gift horse in the mouth, provided you can tell me where to collect. The problem was Keyed Entry didn\'t bounce. If he had bounced they still wouldn\'t have won but you wouldn\'t have had to direct me to a mutual clerk.
