This may be old news for some of you, but Hollywood Park announced that there will be no turf racing for the entire fall meet.

Sort of puts a damper on Thanksgiving weekend. The Turf Festival is the only thing that got me through spending the Holiday with my dysfunctional in-laws.

Good Luck,

Well, at over 2 million bucks/acre usable property, I\'d be in a damn hurry!!! Churchill will be running the racetrack for another couple of years. The developer has yet to talk with \"the community\" and city government. Deals still need to be made.
May they all come home safely!

Maybe the Governor could get involved over there to straighten things out so that everybody understands what needs to happen .  If they can\'t make a go of racing as now appears to be the case , they shouldn\'t be allowed to remain in the business of running or owning racetracks .

They decided to try out a new grass (previously used on golf courses), drainage system, etc. on the turf course.  It didn\'t work.  Apparently the horses weren\'t replacing their divots.
