I know that no 3yo has ever run a negative 5 in April and came back sound. You will hear all the typical excuses for why this horse won\'t be ready for this or that race. And by mid August, he will be retired.

J-DUB:

Anytime a horse can run his last 6F considerably faster than his first 6F and win he has to be taken seriously. As for \'Fog, he runs his 2nd 1/4 faster than his first, puts away all challengers, and Prado is life-and-death trying to pull him up, and his ears are pricked 70 yards from the wire! This could be a fun summer and fall!

\"Alex is the best horse in training now and is the fan\'s choice for HOY\".  May I point out that you should take a look at the Met Mile!!!

AA has looked great in the TC races, a little early to be giving out
Eclipse Awards. What if AA was shut out for the rest of the year?
What if Lost in the Fog went undefeated for the year, winning the BC
Sprint? Under that scenario, wouldn\'t LITF be top Sprinter AND top 3YO?

OPM,

This is what I wrote

>Alex is the best horse RUNNING right now and is the fans choice for Horse of the Year.

Note that I used the word RUNNING not training as you tried to put words in mouth.

Ghostducker doesn\'t really do very much running unless its from Racing Secretaries holding 127 pounds in their hands.

If the two do meet in the BC it will be like Rocky Balboa versus the Russian.

J-DUB

eddie,
You get no argument from me on what\'s yet to come. The scenario richiebee proposed above could very well work out. A lot of racing ahead and it would be nice to see Alex and Ghost go at each other a couple of times. Also, there\'s always a chance a new shooter will come onto the scene. I would like to see Bellamy Road make it back this summer and fall also. AS far as the FOG, his 2nd quarters are amazingly fast. He\'s tough and may not lose this year if they continue to keep him sprinting. I thought Egghead ran a heck of a race but was not good enough when it counted. He is gonna be another excellent sprinter.

richie,
Great point. It could happen as you say if AA and Ghost run into hard times on the track or off.

SPA,

Who did the horse really beat? A Bunch of standardbreds in my opinion.

\"I know that no 3yo has ever run a negative 5 in April and came back sound\"

Pray tell, which others did I miss?

As I recall, the injury wasn\'t considered serious at the time.

Whether Bellamy ever see\'s the track again is problematic, but he\'ll never see another minus 5. Most big number 3yo\'s don\'t.

Valid Video -3, never close.

Midas Eyes threw a -2 in March and to date has never repeated [2 yrs]

Ten Most Wanted a -3 [never close] retired early in his 4yo season after winning a GIII.

Abondanza ran a -2, has yet to repeat a neg. number.

Funny Cide a -1.5 [preak]

Gygistar a -1.5 hasn\'t run better in 3yrs.

Cajun Beat ran a -2.5 in the BC Sprint, never returned to his best.

And on and on it goes. Evening Attire and Perfect Drift are the only ones who have put multiple -2\'s + over several years
May they all come home safely!
