All things considered, things are going as planned for the Titanic known as horse racing I guess.

1.  In the Racing has the Best Technology Category (Didn\'t this happen on Tampa Bay Derby Day and it was someone else\'s fault if i recall?)

https://paulickreport.com/news/horseplayers-category/united-tote-failure-affects-wagering-at-multiple-tracks-adw-companies-on-monday

2.  In the Racing is closing more tracks at some point category (Belinda willing to sacrifice entries from a trainer which always helps her CAW partners and pals b/c she is hell bent on decoupling.  This one is going to get awfully ugly)

3.  And in the Gamblers actually might be Victims Category, I need to actually read the entire opinion.  But I\'m sure the resident experts on \"this means nothing\" can weigh in on this interesting opinion from the 2nd Circuit.

4.  Is Keeneland really going to go it alone (as opposed to NYRA and Del Mar/SA) and take the bad PR of not giving retail players a morsel of 2 minutes to post CAW exclusion?

We shall see how that goes.  Jim Goodman is such a nice guy I read and hear.  And he is in charge of wagering development.  But he\'s gonna watch the CAW\'s chew up all the retail players as long as he is getting paid I guess.  I hope folks slaughter Kee online when the meet opens and the wagering pools get destroyed in the final flash on some races.  Happy Opening Weekend.

Last year Wesley Ward ran a grass filly in a 2X who out of nowhere had run a 4 at KD. Was all speed and a repeat made her look like a cinch. She was Even Money. I singled her in the Pick 3. She was Even Money on the Load and 1-5 by the time they hit the 1st Turn. Then 2-5 on the backstretch. I mean they only had another 45 seconds before horses are crossing the finish line so when does the wagering stop......

Speaking of Keeneland what a great time of the year to be there with the cooling weather and the leaves turning orange and brown. Saratoga is beautiful and in a different way so is DelMar.

What makes Keeneland so different is for example as a young 20 year old college student one was there on a Thursday 10 days before Derby (whatever it was back then). Probably cut a couple of Classes to be there. And I\'m watching Alydar Romp by 15 in the Blue Grass. As you look out beyond into the hinterland you see the White Fences of Calumet and say \"he was born right there\".

For many of these Babies they are coming back home. The Pletcher 2YO Filly Tommy Jo may have stopped off at Spendthrift for a romp in the old play pen before they vanned her over the 3.5 miles from Russell Cave road to Keeneland. By Farm Sire Into Mischief this one is about as homebred and \"one of ours\" as it gets. Thorpedo Anna was born right there in the neighborhood. The Lady Owner approached McPeek \"can you help me sell her\" and Magdalena gathers a Syndicate for $40K. She wins Horse of the Year and millions of dollars and on Sunday she comes back home again. Churchill Downs isn\'t home. Keeneland is home. There are a lot of good babies running at Keeneland this weekend. Pletcher in particular is loaded.

The land of hopes and dreams is about to begin. Right there where many of them were born. And no more than 50 yards from where many of them were sold. There are some future Grade One winners out there. Just gotta find them. Good Luck everyone!!!

Speaking of Keenland this weekend. Just looked at the TG sheets for the Coolmore Turf Mile. Boy that Kentucky Downs air sure brings out the best in the horses that run there.

Good Luck,

Interesting that CD has gotten a pass so far.on the CAW-cutoff issue. Keeneland and all of the tracks that have cut off the CAWs at 2 MTP have a lower win takeout than CD.

I would not be surprised to find that CD is somehow involved in Keeneland\'s reticence on this issue.  CD may not want to see a precedent set in Kentucky and does own an ADW that services the CAWs.
