Well good news Bob is gone.

So far its the Todd, Chad, Saffie (who is now a 60% New York Trainer) and Robertino D show. Rest assured BC will have something to say before the day is over. As in I can move me up too.

I actually think Chris Clement has a punchers chance of winning a race today. Gofu is an impressive animal. Will be up against the Brown Army who was very live yesterday and has one win already today. Gofu is more suited to a track like Belmont than say Del Mar. Might find a little more pace today. But consistently giving Domestic Spending first jump on you is not a recipe for success. Not a fast breaker so outside post is not a worry. Does pull a 1Pt in weight from the Big 2. Could be 4-1 or 7/2. Call your Man!

T Severini

Condolences. Little too much Chad Brown and though he didn\'t line anyone\'s pockets Cox had a rewarding day.

Essential Quality ran a determined race. Took it outside and is going to score the best figure again. Can\'t help believe that despite that he\'s gonna have trouble with Hot Rod Charlie in say a Whitney, a Travers or a Jockey Club Gold Cup. Had Hot Rod been able to throttle back at all in the early stages, its likely a different result.

Anyone noticing that Left Foreleg \"Casting\" that Essential Quality has going?  The more that horses head turns to the right, the more that left foreleg casts to the left. He\'s a stout looking animal, but not getting breeding vibes, which means he\'s gonna be the greatest sire of all time!!!

Rationally there was no money to be made in the Belmont, but the rematches are gonna be worth discussing.

Harkening back, the horse that convinced some we couldn\'t cope with Bad Test Bob unless racing coped with him, was Justify. And in the New Era of Clean with testing procedures capable of keeping Bad Test Bob\'s hands out of the pies, heres that promised nostaglia regarding what they let him get away with then.

Scopolamine

A \"Body\" that cares

Will \"They\" now?

T i survived on the day. Came right back on EQ in the Belmont to cut my losses, But I bet him when he was 2-1. Sheeesh who sent it in on him in the last 5 minutes or so.

For some of the owners who won yesterday I am going to give them a big pat on the back. Seth Klarmin has put a lot money into the game and won 2 Grade 1\'s. His dirt horse Highly Motivated will be heard from again later on.

Bad Test Bob as you all call him is gone for a while. But if there is any race that causes me to laugh or be tongue in cheek about Bob is gone the game is clean is Fridays True North. look at the list of \"suspects\" in there. Firenze Fire was Servis. Flagstaff has already had 2 positives. Rob Astras. Linda Rice has had her issues. Kent Sweazy is clean and learned under Jimmy Jerkins. They knew they had NO SHOT in there against this crew.....

HP

Firenze Fire is now trained by Kelly Breen who has I think...zero positives. I could be wrong but I believe Breen is clean and shouldn’t be tainted by association.

Of course there are still many suspects, but yesterday was a pretty good day and getting rid of Baffert was a big part of it, at least for this fan. Few others in any sport or pursuit could match his combination of arrogance and contempt for the public or the rules of the game. I admit I have a weakness for his unforgettable excuses and stories which put him up there with some of the greatest BS artists of all time. I think Pissing Groom is better than Bad Test Bob and might have a better chance of getting through.

Have a great day!

As a guy on the sidelines, I\'m curious as to how Baffert profits from all of this bullshit.

Take Justify. The horse tests positive for a banned substance, should have never run in the Derby if he was properly DQ\'d due to the positive test which was known before the Derby.....if I am interpreting that correctly.

Reading that link from TS, sounds like the CHRB paved the way with some very questionable decisions.

Horse goes on to win the TC, and is sold for millions.

What is Baffert\'s cut?

What is this guy worth??

Is it any wonder these guys do what they do, if the repercussions are basically nothing and you are profiting millions.

I can\'t believe it took me this long to basically cut my play to maybe 5 times a year.  This entire sht show is nauseating.

Pissing Groom is the best. Salonpas Positive is another. Or, Otomax Positive. Or, Dextorphan Positive. Or, Scopolamine Positive. Or, Transparent Bobby.

Arrogance + Ridiculous Excuses + Messing With Not Only the KY Derby but also the KY Oaks the Year Before + History of Positives = 2 year ban in Kentucky.

California will do nothing per usual. Belinda Stronach is a wild card though.

Florida -- same comment as California.

New York may be tough like Kentucky.

The only way to clean up the sport is to throw the book at these guys. Baseball successfully did it. The Hall of Fame voting in horse racing should be similar to baseball. Why do horse trainers get elected in their 40\'s with many having 25-30 years left as active trainers? Baseball requires players to be retired for 5 years before voting.

Marlin

I saw \"Charlie Hustle\" selling MLB picks on an interview about two months ago.  He is basically stating, Hell, No way are they going to vote me in, so time to cash out.
Marlin

A few years ago the Wall Street Journal reported he makes over $1 million a year selling autographs. I saw him a long time ago sitting in a memorabilia store in the Caesars mall with a line out the door. I thought it was pretty pathetic for him (despite the money) and the guys standing in line.

Your point is well taken. He retired in 1986. His lifetime ban was in 1989. Within the Hall of Fame voting period that occurs 5 years after retirement.

toppled

Baffert is 68 (for the record I\'m 10 months younger than him, born the same year).  Most people our age are retired, or at least the ones who could.

I can see how someone with no morals could figure these are bonus working years & he might as well go as far as he can without getting thrown in jail.

If he gets banned for life, he goes on like most of us his age, knowing our careers are over & enjoying the freedom of having no daily grind.  Meanwhile, he\'s banking millions & can enjoy a luxurious retirement.  They can ban him but they are not taking away his retirement nest egg. Just like nobody is taking back the money all the people who cashed on Medina Spirit made in the Derby.

The official order released Monday says that the hearing officer concluded that Rice “received regular, continual, and improper access to the confidential names and other information” about horses that were entered to race at tracks operated by the New York Racing Association, saying that the “misconduct was knowingly and intentionally improper.” It also says that Rice “improperly solicited and/or received non-public information about race entries on multiple occasions.”

Definitely does not seems the crime fits the punishment.

Disclosure, Linda trains my homebreds. And I’m not claiming to have followed the proceeding closely.

1- as she has pointed out, they have yet to name an actual rule she broke.

2- and now, they’re backing off the quid pro quo. Which leaves “received”.

3-I wonder how many times a day racing offices give out that kind of info to hustle entries.

Why would you find it pathetic that people want his autograph? I find that to be very odd.

First off everything he accomplished on the field was BEFORE he ran afoul with gambling on games when he was the Manager of the Team. He is still the All Time Hit Leader in Baseball. Multiple Batting Champ. He holds the major league records for games (3,562), at bats (14,053), hits (4,256), and singles (3,215). And there is plenty of Pete Rose Memorabilia all over the Hall of Fame. He just hasnt been voted in as Player. He wasnt juicing when he accomplished what he did and there a lot of people who are still huge fans.

Brent Mussberger is in Vegas working with Books. Doing some online Gigs. These guys are Big Draws. And a lot of poeple want to keep working. Regardless of age. And of ocurse they arent doing this for free.

I met Pete once when he was pounding balls at Deer Creek Golf Course in Deerfield Beach. We were on the Range next to each other. Seemed like a nice guy. He had a disease and made a mistake.

You say \"he had a disease and made a mistake\" ...and what in your opinion was his disease? Gambling?
