After watching Enable go for history and come up just short I\'m gonna sit back and enjoy this one. This may be one of if not the best American grass mares we have seen in a long long time. I know she hasnt beaten males and that always seems to be a criteria. But all of this neck and head wins seem to me to be measured wins. Wouldn\'t be shocked if they send her in the BC Turf having won the Filly Turf already once before.

Perhaps others can set me straight and point out some American Turf Mares that prove me wrong. But I simply don\'t remember any.

Well, for one thing, she\'s Irish, not American (a half to Sotsass, 3rd in today\'s Arc). Then there\'s Tepin, who beat males in the BC Mile and who also won a Group 1 at Royal Ascot.

Boscar Obarra

Indeed

As Irish as you can get, 1st & 2nd gen

Good call on Tepin. The fact they a mile should not be held against her. She beat colts in the Shadwell also.

Sister Charlie came over mid way thru 3YO season and has been here since. She has what like one Loss in the NY pr something where she was 25 back. Look at the BC Filly and Mare and how confidently she was ridden. That is a good one you gave. Thanks

Silver Charm

Not where she was born. Where did she run?

I love Sister and think she is indeed very special. But what do you make of having a rabbit in all her wins this year? Kind of puts a sour taste in my mouth.

Silver Charm

As far as yesterday went the Rabbit did run 3rd. So it would be unfair to call it just a Rabbit with a 3rd in a Grade 1.

I do agree some with your statement. When Mitchell Road ran it (the Rabbit) killed that one off. I also might add....and I\'m just guessing is if it\'s a half in like 52 the sprint home can be problematic to ones health.

Aiden O\'Brien runs all kinds of horse in Europe Grade Ones and they all have different agendas. Go look at the PARKED box his two horses put Point of Entry in the BC while Little Mike stole it.....

Did anyone else think he run Saturday look a little flat? I’ve doubted her before and paid for it.

I can’t compare AOB to Chad given that it’s overseas. But your point is well noted.

As far as the rabbit. That is a very good horse, who is unfortunate (maybe wrong word) to be in Chad’s barn. If that horse were in different hands, I wonder if it may have some nice wins under her belt, too bad she’s on Team Chad (and Brandt, for that matter) than her a different one.

Regardless, without having Sister’s sheet in front of me, I’d venture to guess she has more races than normal under her belt this year. I know I should look, but I’ll save that and echo TGJB’s famous November seminar line here “if horses look like they’re tailing off this time of year, it’s because they usually are” ...

Apologies for the late reply. Been taking a wagering / racing hiatus the past few weeks.

So if anything Sister Charlie is suspiciously lightly raced this year. Magical has run 11 times and the Filly and Mare turf will be her third race in 4 weeks. The Ascot turf this past Saturday was closer to heavy then soft and she rolled looking classy against inferior opposition. Santa Anita turf would be expected to be polar opposite.  The big question as Jerry usually points out will be is she adding lasix?

I will be interested to see how the numbers for Fanny Logan stack up.
She interests me as an improving 3yo trained by a guy who has cashed a lot
of BC tickets for me. The price should be right with Sister Charlie and Magical
taking a ton of $.Looking forward to TGJB seminar.

TGJB

Magical ran on Lasix at CD last year, and ran a new top. By memory, O\'Brien horses almost always run on Lasix here.

Absolutely anything can happen in one these type of races. Top horses, top jocks potentially end of a long campaign. O\'Brien is a guy who will do things outside the box so he can be hard to handicap. See what he did when he beat Flintshire. See how he boxed Point of Entry the entire trip until about 5/16ths left.

This one has won SEVEN Grade Ones in a row. I swear these wins are Zenyatta type wins where the Jock did what he needed to do. Go look at last years measured ride the Filly and Mare Turf. That one was run on a very west course. This one will be on a very firm course.

Lady Eli was pretty dominant. Had the near death story behind here so she was a clear fan favorite. Tepin beat colts more than once and it should not be held against her she was best at a Mile. That was Goldicova\'s game. Same with Miesque. All of these were special. We are seeing something similar now. Enjoy!!!!
