Sorry to ask a dumb question, but trying very hard to learn Thoro-Graph sheets:

Under THORO-Pattern on the sheets, it states (example):

Dirt 3yo Oct-Dec: Prev Top 1, Off-Pr-Pr (3.1, 1, 1.1).  Then it says to the right of this: Sts 1287, Top% 25, Pr% 39, Off% 24 and X% 12.

Could someone please interpret this for me.  Thank you very much.

There\'s explanatory material on this site.

I did read the \"explanatory material\" on the site.  Not very helpful IMO.  Maybe there\'s more I\'m not finding.  Would appreciate some explanation on what the statistic material to the right of the Thoro-Pattern on the Sheets mean. I think the stats are for that particular pattern, but just need confirmation.  Thank you.

There\'s material specific to the Thoro-Pattern, did you find that?

On the other, where are you located? If you\'re going to one of the major tracks on a weekend, you might ask here if anyone else is going. Hopefully it will be someone who has been to seminars, but just discussing races with someone who has used TG for a while will help understanding the thought process.

A lot of the questions you asked about patterns can\'t be answered without more detail-- age, time between races, trainer, surface. You might try asking about specific horses that are running that day or the next.

JUst confused about the stats to the right of the THORO-PATTERN on the sheets.  Any explantion whould be appreciated.

I\'m from Kentucky and go to Churchill and Keeneland a lot.  Any upcoming seminars coming up there?  Anyone want to take a \"very eager to learn this product\" handicapper under their wing and teach me a thing or two about Thoro-Graph.  I really want to crush Breeders Cup this year and have been impressed by TG being spot on in many past BC events.  Not trying to be an a-hole here.  Just wanting to learn this product.  I like learning and not discussing the new IRS regulations or where to go stay when in Chantilly for the Arc.

Geez, even Apu at the local minimart points me to the correct aisle

The race of the week is a great way to see how the numbers can be interrupted.  Same figure can create several different opinions.  Normally I would be at CD tomorrow but too much to do tomorrow.  I will be at Kee for the big day Oct. 7th.  If you would like to send me a p to p email, I will be happy to meet up before the races and discuss the card using TG.  I\'m no expert but can talk you through pair ups and recovery cycles.  Best of luck until then.  T.

The stats are for that particular pattern

I actually agree with this sentiment. I\'ve spent a considerable amount of time trying to learn how to interpret the sheets. The seminars they do on the big days are very helpful and past ones are available on youtube. There is also a book titled Expert Handicapping by Dave Liftin that goes into great detail on how to read the sheets. I picked it up off of Amazon for $8 and found it a nice addition to my growing library. It\'s a steep learning curve (for me at least) but as with most things with this sport, the hard work will pay off.

As far as the material on the site, I\'ll preface the following with saying I am a very happy customer and appreciate the work Jerry and his team do. I also understand that they have much better things to do than cater to novices. Having said that, I think the video tutorial could use a bit of an update.
