While most here favor Saratoga the quaint oval on the sea offers a product that is the best in racing; given the criteria, can a player make money.  The slim condition book, ubiquitous coverage and changing configurations on turf often yield competent cappers advantages not available at most venues.

FWIW understanding staters, some 23% of the races, is vital.  Earlier in the week a maiden heat saw the top three finishers sired by Animal Kingdom, English Channel and Union Rags, hardly west coast stallions.

A discussion of front bandages ensued on TVG last week.  A TG, ground loaded fig analysis pick showed up with first fronts.  Assertion:  first bandages 2yo never good, changing tracks or surface no penalty.

Solid conditioner Ron Ellis is 4 for twelve for the meet getting his picture taken.  Six claims!

Lastly, Evin can ride and gets five potatoes thru next March.  Same school as the Ortiz boys who are so revered here, this kid is ahead of them.  Agent Tony has some track record, being the selector for at some point, Angel, Lafitt, Gary, Victor, Kent, Corey etc.

I am taking the train down to Del Mar from the OC this coming Saturday, August 12th. Last weekend was the US Open of Surfing here; I wish there had been wagering available on that I\'d have done better than I\'ve done so far at DMR. Funny thing, the surfers in the finals were so small they could have been jockeys. It made me think I need to invent \"sheets\" for surfers... Hopefully by Saturday I will have the same appreciation for the action at DMR as you do and will turn around my parimutuel results between now and Labor Day.

Just returned from five days at Del Mar.  I love Saratoga, both town and track, like the most comfortable pair of shoes I\'ve ever owned, but there\'s nowhere I\'d rather be than the area surrounding Del Mar.  To quote a wise man who\'s spending a lengthy amount of time out there, this year, there are only good days and better days at Del Mar.

Having said that, as far as the wagering experience, for me, there is no comparison -- Saratoga was much the best.  BBB, you are something of an iconoclast here (that\'s a euphemism for more colorful descriptions that would come from other posters), so the best I can offer you is a tepid, \"to each his own.\"  I just don\'t see any comparison between the two, other than at DMR, you\'re not stuck trying to squeeze value out of horizontals filled with Chad Brown turfers.

And one final plug from me for the Thorograph/NYRA Bets connection.  I had received the general e-mail about offerings out at Del Mar for TG/NYRA participants just after I arrived out there, indicating if you gave them seven days notice, they would have a menu of perks available for you.  So, I responded saying I would only be there through the weekend, but thanks for the offer.  Their rep then went out of her way to find me at the track, and provided me with an array of benefits, and followed up with repeated visits to insure my satisfaction.  This was the same level of service I received in Saratoga.  While I\'m not a nickel-dimer, I am far from a whale, so this has all been very impressive.  A big tip of the cap to all involved.

Mr. P,

Great to hear that the Del Mar team treated you as they promised. Hopefully this will be a benefit that many of our TGPS players will continue to enjoy, as they are at Saratoga.

Continued luck during the summer!

Just back in DFW from SAR.  Don\'t quite follow your last paragraph.  Heading to Del Mar ont he 16th.  Who did you contact about this out there?  Direct to the track?  If you have a contact, I\'d appreciate a personal e-mail if more comfortable.  Week in SAR was beautiful, and last Sunday am was a gem for early morning walk through town.
Sorry I missed the backside group.  May be back.

Hi Shanahan,

I just sent an email to your personal email address. If it didn\'t get through for any reason, please let me know at jeff@thorograph.com and I\'ll resend it to you.

Best,

TG Jeff
