Furious Pete

boardedup

Extremely impressive, again.  But I guess the post time fav wins the derby every year now???

MonmouthGuy

Maybe the 2017 Seminar was meant to be played backwards like the Beatles White Album? Ouch. After 10 years of being completely fooled by Pletchers phony Florida numbers--this!?!?! Ouch again.

Tavasco

hey Pete, I assume you didn\'t get talked off him in the end.

Skoll!

johnnym

Congrats to all.
If this makes sense the horse did not beat me Pletcher did.

metroj

Congrats on sticking with your guns.  I\'m just a lurker here with an occasional comment on what I think is relevant but really enjoy all the comments and banter.   Track certainly helped Always Dreaming and they\'ll surely line up to bet against him in Pimlico, but AD backers got the cash today.

fwiw, the ride Rosario gave Practical Joke was as good as any you\'ll see in a big race, from the 19 hole to the rail by the 1st turn.  Unreal.

boardedup

Makes sense, it was the price that beat me.  I did play him on top of a few (loser) exotics bets, but there appeared to me anyway to be way to much value else where as far as win bets were concerned.

that $75K dollar super w/ the Fav and the ml fav hitting the board is about as good as gets, congrats to all those that hit

BitPlayer

Impressive indeed.

Lanerie was Borel-like.  I don\'t think he left the rail until he moved into second.

Agreed.  He was one of the most likely winners, but the price made it very difficult to attack unless you loved the Place and Show horses (I didn\'t).

Didn\'t stick to my guns strong enough.  If he were like 10-1 or so I would have shipped it on him, but 9/2 made it tough to play him.  Price dictated my play and I put most of my eggs into the value basket with Practical Joke.  Tough game.

Niall

Rajiv did well to get his position, albeit at others expense.

MonmouthGuy

I\'m not sure how he was a likely winner. 9 point top in Florida after years of Pletcher Florida horses throwing Xs off tops. I had him 80% to run off or bounce. Thought fair odds on him were 12/15-1.

We all have different opinions. I\'ve already shared my thoughts on this horse this week.  Those 9s were not Xs on my sheet.

boardedup

Yeah, looking back not upgrading the 1 knowing he\'d get a rail tip was a catastrophic mistake by me.  I didn\'t use him at all.

I used the ones that finished 4,5,6,pretty heavy.  CE & Tapwrit got blown up at the start and pretty much lost all chance (at least CE) and PJ had no answer in the stretch.
