WOW!!!

I have to say honestly todays card is the first time I\'ve spent any real time on this meet ever. I\'ve looked at a couple stakes and glanced at PP\'s the past couple of years. Usually I\'m toast and on a gambling sabbatical by Labor Day.

The excitement and fun of the final weekend apparently hasn\'t worn off as after one non gambling day on Tuesday I found myself playing electronic black jack last night at the Saratoga Casino for 2 hours. My fear of becoming Jimbo made me take a break and go home to cook some shrimp in olive oil & butter, fresh garlic, cajun pepper over some angel hair pasta with fresh grated parmigiano from across the pond. After a wonderful meal it was download TG\'s and DRF for some capping while watching the Baby Bombers continue to do their thing. A couple glasses of wine, 2 hours of capping, call it a night. Up this morning at 5:15 a couple more hours watching replays, checking my notes. I ran out to see a couple customers and pick up a building permit this morning (I do work occasionally) back home by noon for another 1.5 hours into this card.

After 5 plus hours and 9 races with some ideas, no great solid opinions but a fun card to fool around with tri\'s, supers and some rolling horizontals I get to the last race. Maidens, a very modestly bred field of mostly firsters going 6.5 F for 130K.

Double WOW !!!
I\'ve never seen a race card that almost every race has 2-3 15-20/1 shots that you can bet every bit as much as the 5/2 favorites. After the Best Guess/Front Row Debbie exacta in the first there is no reason in the world to bet on anything under 10/1 the rest of the day.

Good luck,

Frank D.

TGJB

That should sell some Ky Downs sheets...

I don\'t have time to play today, but after Frank\'s post I\'m gonna get me a whole
mess of shrimp for dinner.

P-Dub

I swear to God Richie I\'m doing the same thing.

Was gonna go up the street for a roast beef sandwich, but now I\'m boiling water. Shrimp and pasta. Yup.

Looks like the shrimp are selling better than the sheets!

great place for betting, wish they were open tomorrow, not sure why there\'s a day off, anyone know? odd schedule.

TempletonPeck

They only get 5 days per year from the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission. :-(

What I love best is having absolutely no idea where they are relative to the finish line.  I\'m certain they\'re coming down the stretch and then I find out there\'s two more turns.  It\'s like Christmas if my horse wins.  Of course, Christmas only comes once a year.  It also makes me think of an artsy-fartsy-indie film shot with a hand-held camera.

Power Ped interesting at potential double digit mutual. Better distance for him IMO, has run competetively over the course, gets weight from major contenders, and Flavian aboard while saving ground early.
Could be the right ingredients for a return to his top which puts him there with this bunch.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

Thought I saw somewhere that there was a P5 carryover at KY Downs tomorrow... anyone else see that?

plasticman

52k pick 5 carryover.

FrankD.

Pick 5 pool yesterday was only 80K, with 52 in dead money and a Saturday sequence with 4 stakes, 2 Graded can we get north of 500K ??? I hope so :)

Big Numbers at this little GEM, all you have to do is catch one.

Difficult day.  95 degrees in the shade, huge wind down the stretch and the biggest rail I have ever seen (perhaps 60 feet) contributed to a plethora of upfront runners dominating the card.   bbb

Wrongly

I stopped by on Thurs. on my way back from Nashville.  I would hate to see a well attended day at this track.  No grandstands, no shade, only two good size viewing screens.  Also any place you might find for your folding chair will result in limiting viewing to half the race at best.  With temps again in the 90\'s and 60% humidity, there\'s not enough SPF for me to consider a trip but I wish all those that do all the best.  Far more interesting track to bet in the confines of air conditioned Living-room Downs.

I\'ll play a small pick 5 but don\'t know what to make of the news Maker plans to ship Da Big Hoss down under for the Melbourne Cup.
