My initial thought was that this race would be significant because of it\'s place on the schedule. Last year\'s counterpart drew Lord Nelson (Baffert) who won, Calculater (P. Miller) 3rd, and well backed firsters from Casse 2nd and Hollendorfer 4th which ran well enough but didn\'t make any \"to watch\' lists that I noticed.

Looking back a few more years: 2013 was not note worthy to me, 2012 Gabriel Charles bested Den\'s Legacy proving he could be trained up to a big effort, he goes in today\'s Eddie Read. 2011 attracted a bunch of contenders who were humbled when Secret Circle got everyone\'s attention  winning by 7 1/2 lengths while running the slowest race of his life a TG 4. 2010 showed us Prayer For Relief and Clubhouse Ride were not precocious and didn\'t catch anyone\'s attention until later. Some must remember when Premier Pegasus (Cho Myung Kwon) out dueled Rock So Hard (Baffert) and even money favorite Just  Imagine (O\'Neil) to be an $80 winner and $434/1 exacta.

This Year
1 Toews On Ice (KY) apparently name relates to Chi Blackhawks over achieving center. Connections Baffert, Pegram, Watson, Weitman, Garcia, along with w/o Handily from the gate 2/63 @ SA suggest this one can run. Late foal is a concern.

2 Uncle Lino (KY) initially I was going to ignore this one because I didn\'t consider trainer or jockey to be competitive in this company. Seeing Handily from the gate 4/74 in 46:60 from projected freshman sire of the year and m/l of 15/1 changed my mind. A definite use it\'s only a 5 furlong race. Foaled 2/11 a plus for me.

3 Bistraya (LA) ? dismal work tab, $160K Kee yearling purchase. Must have the appearance of a racehorse? Odd spot. Easy to dismiss.

4 Dare To Believe (KY) I like the breeding but prefer to wait on this one.

5 Kelly With A Twist (FL) A Florida bred? (not by  Kelly Kip) Looks like an owners group with a limited budget promoted by O\'Neil the racehorse flipper. Buy where stock is plentiful (FL) race where purses are large and fields are small. c/b a scratch if others don\'t. @ 4/1 ml what am I missing?

6 Ring Collector (KY) Another purchased in Ocala.  Jan foal, Scat Daddy, solid works make this one a contender to me whoops,  Gutierrez up degrades him to lesser awards in my view. See he and Smith each trying to find room on the outside.

7 Rockin Bayou (LA) a second LA bred? Does the ship-n-to-win bonus program apply to these? Equibase has him with the same w/o as Uncle Lino on 7/5/2015? Something is amiss with that w/o which plus M. Smith surely causing the  5/2 m/l. This one has already been sold twice (incl Ocala) that c/b good or bad news.

8 Bedeviled (KY) While this one may develop into the best, not 1st up, not sprinting, not today, maybe later BC in Nov.

I\'m off to double check on the 7/5 w/o. Let\'s  hear what you hear about this race!

Edit
I looked at the Santa Anita website no w/o for Rockin Bayou on 7/5. Note drf site has a record of it so beware the form c/b inaccurate and misleading.
