Sorry Richie, but as soon as you made fun of Brass Pear, he got mad and started racing well, and is running tomorrow. ;-)

When you called out Brass Pear he was the actual worst horse on the circuit bar none. Now? He\'s sort of ok. Miraculous turnaround.

Hey,

Richie is consistent.  At least give him that.  A few weeks back he called out the NY Breds Samraat and Uncle Sigh as not Wood-worthy.  They ran 1-2.   Then last week he called out California Chrome, the Cal-bred.  He ran off the screen in the San Felipe.  (Richie, guessing u hated Social Inclusion the other day!!)

Can u let me know what u think of my pick in the Cicada, My Miss Behaviour?

Plastic:

Yeah, I am going to have to reevaluate the entire NYB program, or at least my
view of it.

In a snarky December post here entitled \"A Match (Race) Made in Heaven\", I
facetiously1 called for NYRA to schedule a match race between 40
something start maiden Cat Man Fu and 50 something start maiden El Dreamer.
The \"Cat\" has since broke his maiden, depriving NYRA of a great marketing
opportunity.

1) Is there any other word in the English language featuring all of our
vowels in alphabetical order? I mean, even the \"...and sometimes \'y\' people\"
can not argue.

Jimbo, I am ultra consistent. Even though \"Sam\" and \"Sigh\" put on a good
show, and may have hung up Derby competitive numbers, they still have beaten
very questionable fields in both the Withers and the Gotham. I was expecting
Shug to ship one of his prospects up for the Wood, but he has had a rough go
lately on the Derby trail. Still looking for a huge field in the Wood as TAP
might ship up all of his Derby nominees in a final attempt at points.

Cal Chrome indeed ran off the screen and now might be the fastest Derby
prospect # wise. But who has he beaten? Two colts (Midnight Hawk and Kristo)
making sharp turns off the Derby Trail in the San Felipe? Tamarando? (To be
fair to me, while I did not guzzle the Cal Chrome TG Kool Aid, I at least
included this one in horizontal wagers last Saturday.)

My final word on the Derby as we approach the Ides of March: I will be
looking for a contender who a) has competitive TG #s; b) has some 2YO
foundation; and c) was attempted to be purchased by Jim Covello.

As to the Cicada (ROTW) good luck. My opinion is not pertinent as I have bet
maybe 10 races at AQ since the Cigar Mile on Thanksgiving weekend.

My two runners to bet for Saturday (affectionately known on this forum as
\"toss outs\") are both in the 6th at SA, the Great Race Place, the winter home
of the limited Richiebee bankroll. Race 6 at Santa is a MSW mile turf event,
where Richard Mandella has two second time starters: Perfect Cursive (20/1
ML) and Tizmiss (12/1 ML). At those odds will be making small win bets, using
in horizontals and putting underneath in exactas.

Does Chris Kay really know what\"transparency\" means?

Statement from NYRA CEO and President Chris Kay on today\'s announcement by the New York State Gaming Commission

\"The New York Racing Association is concerned by the allegations that have been brought to The New York State Gaming Commission. We support the Gaming Commission and will fully cooperate with its investigation.

Mike,

I was a bit worried about you; it\'s nearly the end of the years first quarter and you\'re not even close to your par of clueless clowns.

What do you expect from this band of \"political stooges\" they say nothing, do nothing and fiddle away like Nero (No Assmussen pun intended) as Rome burns to the ground. Other than Panza trying to undo his predecessors idiotic and certain trainers friendly condition book; make a big day splash or two, no one has done anything germane to their inferior product, guest experience or remotely relevant to wagering in the 21st century.

A complete and total joke that just gets worse and worse each and every day. If 20 % of the PETA creation is factual its a public relations night mere for a crumbling industry.

This is the best response the \'clueless\" toy king can come up with?
Burn baby burn!!!

I wish I had something else in life that remotely came close to the thrills of the past 40 years of betting on horses because I would be there quicker than Scott Blasi gets ruled of the grounds of every major track as the fall boy.

Maybe Toys R US should take some marketing lessons from PETA coming out with this as Assmussen WAS a virtual lock to go into the hall of fame with Curlin and Rachel this year!

Frank D.

Per DRF Assmussen just removed from hall of fame ballot.

Frank,

With criminal charges in the offing, wonder if Blasi cuts a deal and throws Asmussen/Zayat under the bus.Maybe also go public with other \"stuff\" going on.

Frank,

No pars are used on this site.

However, after a slight regression I\'m sure Miff will forge forward to his previous top. And at the rate things are going in the industry, a good chance at a new top soon.

A good one Paul!

Looking at the left coast pick 6 today; 44 entries ONLY !!!

The hammer about to fall:

Gov Cuomo on min wage violation by Asmussen: "It is a crime for businesses not to pay employees properly and those flouting the law will be held accountable."

reminds me of getting Capone for tax evasion

smalltimer

Democratic administration officials and judicial system all the way from New York to D.C.  If they choose to (and they have) take him down it will be painful for Mr. Asmussen.
Wouldn\'t it be ironic if Curlin and Rachel get inducted and Asmussen gets indicted?

Caradoc

All over the backside that Asmussen fired Blasi earlier today.

Miraculous turnaround, Part II:

Brass entered on Inner Tube, race 5, running against two Pletcher Derby trail
retreads from last year, Matterhorn (625,000 auction purchase) and Harpoon
(500,000 auction purchase).

Look at BP\'s two starts off the claim for \"Miracle Michelle\".
