7th Race Parx

Both the #2 Rare Revenge and the #7 Adirondak King just ran too good to lose and they didn\'t. Dead Heat! Appropriate.

Appropriate? I once heard uttered that a \"heater\" was akin to \"Kissin ya sistah.\"

Walk em both back to the 5/8 pole set up the gate and run a second dash to cash.

PETA will never find out...

ritchiebee - I get your point. My knee jerk reaction is to, of course, blame the stewards for being wishy washy while fearing the criticism resulting from making a simple decision.

The concept of a tie breaker makes a little sense but then my imagination goes wild with visions of jockeys battling it out with num chuks. Or, owners sprinting 30 yds.

I would like to point out the original post was immediately after the race. I was so taken by the running I became lost in a fog of subjectivity. I was a horse racing fan and not a bettor.

I had no interest in the race and was just kind of daydreaming while hoping one of Dodie\'s picks would hit the board while reflecting on subjectivity vs objectivity at the races.

I believe, one really does need to view the video replay to fully appreciate my reaction. The # 7 horse appeared to me to be heading for a win at three different points in the race. Initially when he made the lead and looked so strong. Then again after he re-passed the also ran opponent who just had to be in the lead and lastly when he came back on the #2 after being headed. Alternatively. the #2 looked a sure winner coming on like Kona Gold* in the turn and fighting back after he was in turn headed by the #7 and then came again and truth be told, looked the winner.

*Note - not to suggest that Kona Gold did his best running on the turn but I could not recall a late running sprinter who consistently made eye catching Monarchos or Zenyatta like turn moves in a sprint.

Anybody else watch the race?

Lastly, Mahoning Valley at least is filling the starting gate if not the stands. They did build some stands didn\'t they? My research did not find a Brunch price but apparently Bob Evans is just down the street.
