Can this horse win?
I just don\'t see this break-neck pace similar to past derbies (where\'s the sprinter (s) trying to stretch out?)

He\'s already proven that he can pass horses, why can\'t he just sit off Wildcat Red and Chitu?

He\'s certainly fast enough.

Why would you think chitu is going to the lead?? He looks like one I think that should sit back a couple and make a move heading into the turn or be backing up coming into the turn.

louisvilleguy1111

Lol funny thing is Vicars in trouble looks like a horse that you should throw out in the derby to me. Easy lead last time came home slow. FG horses look to be avg at best.

Halo Fire

Oh, I don\'t know, I\'m looking at my pace figures...?

Halo Fire

You have no idea how happy you make me feel

louisvilleguy1111

I mean I guess you could make a case for chitu to try and go to the front but it looks like the races I seen him run they always have tried to make him sit a little. But hey you could be right.

Sure, Danza won why can\'t this guy?lol

I read, He is tiny. If it matters to you.

It seems to me that Vicar\'s in Trouble is in trouble.  He is a dist challenged front runner with Cal. Chrome and Wildcat Red set to go.  Both of those are dist challenged but are more impressive at the shorter distances.

miff

Dskidmore,

How did you determine that Vicar/Wildcat/CC are distance challenged? California Chrome does not seem to be a confirmed front runner to me.

I\'m not sure any of the horses currently in the field are confirmed front-runners.  Any of the likely candidates seem to be just as comfortable stalking.  And any that inherit a lead will likely just control the pace - as Vicar and Red did in their respective preps.

Makes me think that any closers will have a hard time getting there. There can\'t be 20 horses within four lengths of the lead.
