...was the name given to Schenectady New York when General Electric and
American Locomotive were in operation there, employing over 70,000 workers
toiling three shifts per day, supporting nearly 70 taverns in the area near the factories.

Most of the factory workers are gone, and most of the taverns are gone, but a
small hard core of folks seem to have devoted their lives to keeping these
remaining taverns viable.
