So, I was at Churchill from Wed on..I hung out with some pretty good handicappers, press guys, and mostly informed folks and the one thing I heard from the majority of guys I really respect is that \"Orb just wasn\'t fast enough\". \"his beyers weren\'t good\" or \"his speed figures were too slow\".

Now, I liked him because I liked what I saw on Thorograph and I saw him thursday morning and when asked to describe him I said to a buddy \"he looked like if another horse came within 5 yards of him he would bite his head off - a beast\"

But, I have to say, that Jerry was out there with the big number he gave ORB in his last - and DOJ and that those numbers sure did hold up pretty good if not spectacularly on Thu-Fri-Sat.

So, at the risk of being called a suck up or worse, thanks guys for making good numbers and taking the time to do the work. It pays off.

That is why I use TG numbers (and statistics).  With discipline, value can be found. Don\'t have them is like go to the war with no weapons.

The price is fair if we play to win and to have fun.

Just wanted to congratulate Mr. Beychok on being part of a great article on the Derby written by David Hill.  It is on the the Grantland website and is a welcome reminder of why I love the game despite all its problems which have been discussed on the forum over the last month.

Not done with the day, but the Derby took me less than a minute once I looked at the assembled data with ground-- Orb, NI and Rev paired up.

So yes, GP 3/30 held up.

Meanwhile, I\'m hoping Jimbo or Alm  can put together a list of California horses that ran at CD over the weekend so I can post sheets and we can see if I have that circuit too slow.

We should be putting the two CD days up in ROTW by tomorrow night.
