Casinos at race tracks supplement purses with slot revenue.  Why not take a small percentage of that money and give it out to horseplayers through player rewards vouchers???  The money will then be returned to the mutuel pools.  It will attract new horse players, encourage higher betting volume, and thus stimulate horse racing. Go to a casino and people are lined up redeeming their vouchers for the slots.  Horse racing needs to do the same!!!  Lets Experiment with it???!!!

Why would they do it, that would make too much sense.

BILLIONS of dollars have gone to owners, trainers and jockeys due to slots fueled purses and there are many tracks that are slots fueled that have extremely low betting handle....the higher purses and better quality of horses have not spurred betting.

Exactly my point, higher purses doesn\'t equal higher betting volume.  Give incentives to horse players through cash rewards and that will increase betting volume.
