Is it possible that SOME of this horse\'s improvement is due to finally getting on the right surface?  I suspect Moya is using some magic....but this is a horse that fired three consecutive 6.0s in May and June of his three year old year on synthetic.  He did not switch to dirt until his 5yo year and it looks like he was basically a throwaway at GP....probably not acclimatized or in any way handled with intention down there.  Moya\'s first race -- getting him to a 5.5 in the mud (mud tomlinson of 438....first time out in the mud) -- really doesn\'t look suspicious at all to me.  As far as the next two....they do look jarring.....but I wonder if this situation is in part magic and in part getting the horse on the right surface.  Remember, there is a phenomenon of horses get very sharp jump ups going from Synthetic to Dirt.  This horse\'s sheet is too spread out/attenuated to make that case....but it does look to me like somebody probably should have tried the horse on dirt earlier and not ALL of the jump up is chemical.

...and if it was an isolated case I might agree with you.

Take a look at the third at Mth on Sunday. Queen Concerto had 14 lifetime starts (13 on dirt) with a top of 15 3/4 before Moya got her. First start for him was a 6 (19 length win).

Not to worry, though. I have it on good authority that our game is cleaner than the Olympics.

NYRA posted THE $2.00 will pays on LATE pick 4 to the winner of the last, the 15 horse, at $308.50....it won and paid $220.00, no late scratches, WTF!

I know. But they don\'t/can\'t assume who the favorite is when posting the will pays.
