Lost in all of the AZERI defeat was the incredulous decision made by the Santa Anita stewards to DQ ELLOLUV from second.

Yes, I am venting here because it cost me a substantial score. Putting that aside, is there anyone out there who can speak without the emotion attached to the financial impact.??

My points are these: 1) ADORATION was tiring and bearing in and out herself 2) ELLOLUV had already passed her rather easily and was 1 1/2 to 2 lenghts clear of her when she bore in. ADORATION was tiring, not closing, at this point.

So now we\'ll have jockeys simply standing up on their cooked mounts each time they have a chance to get put up into one of the top 4 spots, right??? The game is tough enough, especialy when you\'re betting against a horse like AZERI.

I thought that was a bit if a suspect decision also, but I didn\'t see all the angles.

I\'m equally upset about the DQ.  I went to the track on Sunday with one thought in mind-getting into the place pool hoping for Azeri to run third or worse.  I knew the bridge jumpers would be out in force, and I was right- last I saw, there was a quarter of a million on Azeri in the place pool, and the total pool was less than $300,000.  I had good-sized place bet on Elloluv and an exacta box with her and Got Koko.  I was pretty happy when they crossed the line in that order, only to be done in by the stewards.  With the generous support of the bridge-jumpers, Elloluv to place would have paid $80 or so.  The ironic thing is the DQ ended up costing Oak Tree some money, they had to cough up some of their own cash to pay off the $2.10 minimum.

I didn\'t have the ex. but I agree that Elloluv did not cost Adoration a placing.  The same exact thing happened in the next race and Tates Creek was not DQ.  Elloluv was past Adoration by at least one lenght
