Something I\'ve noticed as someone who used Rags for years and switched to thorographs over the past few years. In Rags, you\'ll often see wide differences among the numbers of horses in any given race, but in thorographs often the numbers in a race will be closer (it always made sense to me that if trainers were any good, they\'d place horses of similar abilities in a race, so all things being equal the numbers should be close). But I\'ve seen that small differences in t-g\'s mean a lot whereas in Rags they don\'t mean that much. I hadn\'t given this idea much thought until recently. Even a horse who runs a 0 say against a horse who runs a neg. 1/2. That\'s a big difference in t-g\'s. Look at the 9th race from Fairgrounds yesterday as a good example. The top contenders ran mostly 0\'s and the one who won ran just a little faster. Very small differences in t-g\'s mean a lot as compared with Rags. Just something that occurred to me that might be of use if you\'ve formerly used Rags for a long time. Takes a while to change your mind, in Rags you\'d be betting a horse who was often much faster than the others, but not always the case in Thorographs-you\'ve got to read t-g\'s looking for much more subtle differences. Just posting in case this might help anyone. If you\'ve used Rags you probably know what I\'m speaking of here.
