I\'m bred sire side for retail and dam side for gambling. As such a day on which
there is very little/none of either can grate on the nerves.

Ms Richiebee, L.Ac, was raised in a country where whatever religious inclinations
she may have had were disinclined. As such she is out today treating some
patients who have similar disinclinations.

So lets see, wife out 6+hours, check; cold beer and wine in the fridge, check;
money in the account, check; live racing, nyet.

I might even join one of those fringe groups like the NTRA or the WHO (World
Horseplayers Association?) to fight for my new cause: For the Love of Jesus, Give
Us Live Racing on Christmas.

If just one track at least the size of Parx or Tampa Bay Downs conducted live
racing on Christmas Day, I predict a success in terms of both live gate and total
handle [hang on a second, TVG showing BC Classic, Zenyatta loses again]. For those
who think I answer to some pagan deity, let me remind that the Knicks played a
matinee today and America\'s Team, NFL\'s Cowboys, play tonight.

Well theres always tomorrow, with the return of racing at FG and SA opening. And
to all of those celebrating a traditional Christmas with family and friends,
throw another log on the fire.

Next year, we\'ll put the 02X back in Xmas...

Yeah, to add insult to injury, it took a Saturday out of play.

There definitely used to be Christmas Day racing in some jurisdictions.  I remember it.  I also vaguely recall in the 1970s that Hollywood use to race on Christmas Day and the traditional feature was a claiming stakes.  Yes, an added money event where the horses had to be entered for a tag.  Anybody else recall that?  I wish I could remember more about it....but that is it.

Richie,

In a lifetime full of great posts, this is one of the very best.

You have many problems....and we love you for it.

Man, even my 3 year old got today off from watching racing.  Everyone needs a day off once in a while!!!!!

Seriously though, happy holidays!
