Should GOLDIKOVA be a part of any  HOY discussion?

I can\'t see how.  After all, anyone will readily admit that our American turf horses are always inferior to the Euros each and every year they come over.  So, Goldikova\'s feat, while historic and very impressive, it\'s not like she had to come over here and defeat a Paradise Creek, Theatrical, Manila, or a Lure.  She beat Gio Ponti, The Usual QT, Court Vision and Paco Boy, who are by no means  tomato cans, but I would venture a guess that they are not on par with those great American stars of the \'80s and \'90s.  If that were the case, wouldn\'t Dangerous Midge be in contention based on his Turf conquest?

With that said, this HOY argument is getting ridiculous and may start to get downright ugly.  There are too many people that are taking this way too personal.  For me, personally, a horse named Agastache is my horse of the year, but he\'s probably gonna be considered.  :-)  I\'ll live.
