The Breeders Cup has asked me to make sure Thoro-Graph players know about our handcapping contest, and since it was my idea to begin with...

It\'s a real money contest, with a 10k buy-in, of which $2,500 goes to the prize pool, and the rest you play over the two days. You keep whatever you have at the end. They expect around 100 players, with 280k in total prize money, 150k to the winner.

Aside from the contest being a pretty good deal by itself, the perks are tremendous. Players have the option of spending the two days in the Gold Room, the tournament room that has a private balcony overlooking the finish line, or playing from any of the qualified contest machines throughout the building, if you already have seats. They also get a Millionaires Row buffet each day, gift packets, clubhouse credentials, and access to discounted hotel rooms ($199 room rate, downtown).

It seems to me that if you are going to the Breeders Cup (or even thinking about going), you might as well play the contest-- with the prize money and perks it\'s a better deal than just puting the money through the windows.
