Lost cause you will not have to wait for the BC Classic as they are matching up in the Whitney, where Pletcher has been super tough to beat(Lawyer Ron).

I want no part of Quality Road at 9 furlongs with any horse (unless they bring back Ghostzapper)....I\'m looking to beat him at 10fs in the jockey club and/or the BC but I don\'t think Pletcher will run him in both.  It\'s just my feeling that QR is very vulnerable once he passes that 9F mark.

I hope QR beats him easy in the Whitney and they meet again in the BC at nice odds.

Thanks for the update.

Out of curiosity, since QR\'s best races have been at the longest distance he has tried (9f) and he wasn\'t exactly backing up at the end of the Donn, why don\'t you think he\'ll go further? And even if 9f is his best distance, how many points (lengths) do you think he\'ll give up in an eighth of a mile?

exactly my same point with nobles promise.. it makes no sense. the horse is running with a capability of negative 7.5 and going an extra 1F.. thats NOTHING unless they are blazing the way.

TGJB,

I believe MJellish was the originator of the \"Quality Road can\'t get 1 1/4\" movement on this board.

The basis for it is the two races where he lost to Summer Bird (Travers and JC Gold Cup, I believe).

Both races were on a sloppy track, which I don\'t think he wants and in the one race he was pinned down inside and apparently this is a problem for him (according to the connections).

Let\'s see him run on a dry dirt track, at that distance.  I believe he is the best horse in training at any distance from 6 furlongs to 1 1/4.  He already broke the Saratoga track record last year at 6.5 furlongs and has run huge at 1 1/8.

All I need is a good horse to be close enough to make up that ground once he does pass that 9F mark, ala Summer Bird in the JC.  The Donn example was a complete blowout in which nobody was close enough or good enough to make a run.  He might be able to win the JC if there is no speed up front but if the BC has Rail Trip and Rachel in it...He is in some serious trouble at the eighth pole when the closers come knocking.

Nobles Promise is not QR.  I wouldn\'t play NP to go 10fs against allowance horses.
