Redeemed himself proving that his Ark Derby was a brutal trip ala LAL had today. He obviously wants no part of 10F but this guy can be a useful G1 or G2 miler, or sprinter. I hope they treat him right.

Ol\' Willie M didn;t know what to do when he made the lead at the top of the stretch. Note to Willie - next time you make the lead in the Derby when it\'s go time...RIDE YOUR SKINNY BUNZ OFF BOY!

He moved way to early. Perfect position. I think that horse would have been top 3 with albarado on him but we will never know. Horse moved a full furlong early imo.

come on guys they went 22 to the 1/4 going 10f!!!! he was stalking that!  give it up please.. if they went a normal pace and he stalked he wouldve been right there with no issues

Noble\'s Promise was behind Super Saver at the 1/4 and just ahead of him at the 1/2. The pace of the Derby did not stop the winner. Noble\'s Promise did, however, step into a rather large hole at the quarter pole. The hole was his pedigree.

I\'m afraid that if you want a textbook visual of a good horse (I mean that in the horseman\'s sense.  Woody called Swale a \"good horse.\") who is prevented from winning becasue of breeding limitations, then NB is it.  Willie didn\'t move  \"too early,\" he did what jock agents call \"putting the horse in a position where he had every chance to win if he was good enough.\"  I agree with Uncle Buck.  He\'s going to be a useful miler, maybe most useful on turf.  Even though I had my money on Super Saver (everyone, repeat after me:  \"Thank You, Jerry!) I got that old excited feeling when I saw NP on the lead at the head of the stretch.  I was pulling for all those salt of the earth KY owners and the McPeeks.  Kenny paid $10K for that horse at auction.  He bought Curlin at auction for $50.  He\'s the one that bought Einstein in Brazil and brought him to this country.  I said it before, and I\'ll say it again, he is eventually going to win the Derby, and probably with a horse that he pays less than $100K for because he\'s willing to take a chance on relatively unproven sires (Cuvee?).

The trainer agrees with you guys here.  He said after the race that \"I have a really good horse, I just have a miler\" not a classic distance horse.

I thought Martinez did fine.  He  was not right on the 46 pace, ala Talamo (questionable ride by Joe).  He sat off of it and then assumed the lead on the far turn, which is often the winning move in the Derby.  One of the guys who I was with, who bet on Noble\'s Promise hard, said after the race, \"he was right in position, made the winning move, then realized he was by Cuvee and ran out of gas\".

I was at the Meadowlands Pegasus and Brad Thomas, who is amongst the best public handicappers IMO said before the race that he wished he could get a BC Sprint futures bet down on Noble\'s Promise because he thinks the horse is extremely talented but just won\'t get the 1 1/4.

Next stop for NP the Met Mile?
