Apparently, there is still no agreement to bring back Gulfstream and Santa Anita as well as Golden Gate and Fairgrounds. A Thoroughbred Times article today said the sides are as far apart as any time in the negotiations. I guess my inside information that a settlement was near was incorrect?! Oaklawn will also be included in this dispute, so if Rachel did face Zenyatta, we mid-Atlantic bettors couldn\'t wager on it!

In an unrelated article also in the Thoroughbred Times today, NYRA is broke and there may not be a Belmont Stakes or Saratoga meet this summer! June 1 would be it for NYRA racing. I would laugh at the incredible nature of such a report, but in today\'s racing scene, I can believe it. Some NY politician was saying Saratoga should not be taking money for season passes unless they hold the funds and can pay them back in the event the track doesn\'t open; they are possibly defrauding the consumers by selling seats. Can someone please tell me this is a joke, right??? No Saratoga??? Is that even in the realm of possibility?
