Zensational will be saving at least a length of ground and gets almost a half a length in weight from the olders.

Post position is almost irrelevant because this horse has Quarter Horse speed the first 1/8th.

Price may not be much however so save with Captain Candy Man.

covelj70

He could win but taking 4-5 on a horse that is no faster than and in some cases slower than the others when he will pace pressure for the first time in his career isn\'t for me.

Capt Candyman
Gayego

those are my two here.

I would even take the European Filly before I bet Zansational to win.

btw, I likely just guaranteed that he airs :)

jbelfior

No faster than anyone else in here?

The debate continues on inside trips getting penalized despite the effort it took to get there in the first place.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

Some people are flunking the math test in here JoeB.

without giving everything away who are the faster ones?

Fatal Bullet holds the key but is he the same horse as last year. If he is and he throws a 43 and 4 like he did for Lute to close into that is why you need to save. If he can\'t throw down and stick the Little Z is gone.

KK is only really proven on dirt to me. However this throwback type is a nice one to like. Made his first run at 2 going 2. Raced a total of 22 times mostly in Grade 1\'s ,and 2\'s. Probably sticks around for another year unless he wins this.........

HP

Fatal Bullet may be the same horse but it looks to me like the trainer approached this quite differently this year and has done a better job pointing for the race.

The thing that makes the sprint so tricky to handicap this year is that the race shapes is so hit or miss.

If they both get out of the gate ok and have a clear path, the race shapes set up for a closer as Zensational has never had to go as fast as he will have to to keep up with Fatal Bullet.

BUT, there are only two pace factors this year and how many times have we all seen a pace scenario fall apart b/c one of the two that is suppossed to be out there stumbles or is bumped at the break, etc.

I am going to throw both of them out alltogether, FB because I think he will be tired out and Z b/c he\'s not as fast as the others but I won\'t exactly feel great about that.

I also like Cost of Freedom a little.  My first take would be to take this one and Fatal Bullet over Zen - but we\'ll see how the week plays out.

Mike Welch:

\"Cost of Freedom (six furlongs in 1:12.58): Was a handful for Tyler Baze coming away from the pole but settled quickly enough, posting splits of 24.56, 36.44, 48.28 and 1:00.43 before galloping out seven furlongs in 1:25.36. Accomplished the move while under a loose rein and under little pressure throughout\".

Thanks Miff.  Good back number at SA and lightly raced this year.  HP

HP,

He was lightly raced because Cost Of Freedom was barred from racing in Cali for months since he was deemed to be unfit by the State Vet on several occasions. Sadler explained that this horse always had a \"funny\" way of going but was sound, the State Vet did not buy that story.

Finally cleared before his last, he ran kinda ok but was short.Figures to trip out behind Fatal Bullet and Zen but have to wonder if he\'s the same horse as last year.Good Luck

Lost Cause

Did these reports reflect the horse\'s efforts in last year\'s Cup?
I am always skeptical with workouts..
Thanks

Just on memory...

I believe Ventura had great workout comments leading up to the F/M sprint and she aired at 9/2?? or something like that.

Ventura\'s workouts were massive and she was the buzz horse, unfortunately, she got beat down hard.  Was either 2-1 or 5-2.
