1st at Belmont today

Dutrow has a one returning today from a long layoff, reminding me of when the horse last ran. Typically, I\'ll let my usual handicapping methods lead me to a bet. Rarely, I will make a \"hunch\" bet, or, at least one where a hunch or some vague mysticism will factor into the wager. This was one of those bets.

He was a 2YO making his second start after running just OK in his debut. He wasn\'t getting hammered at the windows, but he was getting bet enough to make you think he had a decent shot. The hunch part? Durkin announced that the horse had had a recent operation, making him a gelding, and making the bet impossible to resist. The horse\'s name? Precious Package.
