The figure-making gods frown on hubris, Jerry...

Jonesboro (119) (7-2) – caught soft fields in Texas in his last two and didn't
earn good Thoro-Graph figures, other speed figure services notwithstanding.
In fact, given the weight, the post, and the competition, you can make the
case that this 7yo doesn't have an effort in his life fast enough to win this,
though his consistency could get him a check. The morning line favorite is a
bet-against.

What\'s your point?  Why don\'t you post your analysis before the race?

TGJB

Yup, he won. Boy, these ROTW\'s suck.

By the way, it didn\'t affect the ones I liked, but someone took out half the field on the first turn of that race. Check out the replay.

Dead-- You know, I didn\'t notice he title of your post the first time. Guess it\'s a reference to my post with the same title where I knocked Friedman\'s pick as hopeless-- BEFORE the race.

Jerry --

Just giving you a (good natured) hard time about slipping your ad hominem attack on Ragozin into ROTW and having it backfire, at least this time.

Last week you posted too late to save me money.

TGJB

Dead-- you got the hominem part wrong, it was about Beyer. I have no idea what Ragozin gave that horse.

When I can get ROTW done in time, Thoroughbred Daily News runs it. I have to write for a general audience, those people don\'t know from sheets, TG or other, but they do read the DRF.

Deadrockstar

Well then, I apologize.

TGJB

The only times I see Ragozin figures in the ordinary course of things is when they publish the Derby and BC probables, and when figures are published and/or discussed on their site.

I\'ll say this, based on the two horses I mentioned in the original post you referenced, it looks like they have California grass way fast, or at least the races those O \'Neill 3yos they picked come out of (don\'t think they ran against each other out there). Both of them were at least 2-3 points short of competitive, aside from any pattern issues-- next time they run check them out in the RBR.

It will be interesting to track this as the year goes on to see if it is just the 3yos.
