Agreed.  Haskin\'s not my favorite (usually a little too \"tres agreable\" for me), but this piece is terrific.

Jerry...any thoughts on the newest Past-Posting episode that occurred at HP over the weekend?  Seems crazy that we can fix an inter-stellar telescope but we can\'t figure out how to stop the funds from moving once the gate opens.

Great article!

And Chip Woolley ...

"He had traffic problems, but the fact is, the mare was the best horse today," he said. "He ran big and I'm very proud of him, but he just didn't have enough to get there. I don't want anyone dwelling on the fact that he had a bad trip. She won and she deserved it. She's a great mare."

... has got to be the classiest cowboy on either side of the Mississippi.

Don\'t know anything about this incident, but as to the overall issue, I do know somebody in an important position is taking the issue very seriously.

I don\'t stay up that late. What was the line?

TGJB

\"When he got off the horse and gave me a hug I could tell something was up," Figueroa said. "Then when he hugged Chip he just lowered his head and broke down crying. It was pretty hard on him. I knew it would be hard for him to take off a horse that had just won the Kentucky Derby. He kept telling us, 'Thank you,' but I said, 'Geez, dude, we should be thanking you.' Then he headed to the airport to go to California to be on Jay Leno."

OK, I\'m slow. Thanks.

He may not be Shoemaker or Cordero, but Calvin is a mensch, and we can always use more of those.

Fantastic article, awesome job Steve.

My favorite quote from Wooley:

\"I came in asking for autographs, and now i\'m signing them\"
